I am starting a online growing class 101 on Jan 3rd 5pm(pacific standard time)---everyone is welcome. I will be posting and answering all questions from 5 to 6pm Mon thru Fri. If you plan on following along with your own grow please have your materials ready--It doesn't matter if you have bag-seed or high dollar strains. Those that join before the start date will be graded and judged by the forum members via---"grower polls" and at the end of 18 weeks one grower will be named--"NEW GROWER OF THE YEAR 2009". This should be a fun and informational class with lots of feedback. All I ask in return is that if you want to join the class, please make the commitment and try to make yourself the time to get the most out of it...Looking forward the the first class-----see you in JAN.

Now, does this mean that we have to start a new grow to join the class?? I have a grow going right now that will be done around mid jan - early feb, so i wont be able to start over new, but i do have pics and records of the entire grow, and will have everything documented from start to finish. i wanna learn as much as i can before i get into my new house and start "big doggin it", but also i wanna show how i went from a cardboard, top of the closet cab grow, to a closet, growtent grow with 5x as many plants as the 1st grow, with bigger plants, higher quality plants, and higher yielding plants (god willing, lol). I wanna put in my bid for New grower of the year 2009 for sure man, ive made progress in leaps n bounds since my 1st time around :D

You are more than welcome to follow along ----as far as getting the title you would have to start at least a few plants with us on the start date and I will not be the one judging the class----the RIU members will:bigjoint:.

Hey, im finishing my first grow right now and i just harvested ! Looks very good for my first grow, 1 light 1000 watt 50 Organic Purple Kush clones, very excited to see it all dry!! I will be starting another identical 50 clone show on JAN 5 and i want in on the class!! Is it ok if i start from clone not seed? I might be doing some moms on the side, Blue cheese and Bubba Kush, but probably just the one show. Id love to be a part of this!
And it will be soil not hydro.. incase that makes a difference :P

I'm going to post the things you''ll need for the first set of classes.

1. PH meter or PH test vial---(It doesn't have to be an expensive one but You need to have one and it must work properly. If you want to go really cheap Wal-Mart sells a PH test kit in the aquarium fish section.(this kit is also good to have around to help calibrate the cheap pens if you don't have any 7.0 ph calibration solution.

2. TDS/PPM/EC pen----(again-it doesn't have to be a expensive one----lowes/homedepot/walmart has them in the water softening or water heater section.

3. Containers-----( I like the 16ounces but you can use 8 or any cup that is a least 4 1/2" tall---must be plastic and you will need the same number of cups as the number of seeds you will be wanting to germinate.

4. Germinating soil/medium----(You can use any soil/medium you like----This can be picked up from any lowes/homedepot/nursery/wal-mart/hydro-store---the only rule is that it cannot have ADDED SLOW RELEASE NUTES IN IT!!!--look on the labels----some good one's for germinating are----BLACK GOLD SEEDLING MIX--------FOX FARMS LIGHT WARRIOR-----You can also mix your own with sphagnum peat moss/perlite/dolomite lime. ( we will PH the soil before use)

5. Water Source-----I recommend R/O if you can but even a ultra-low ppm tap water is fine(tap water must be below 50 ppm's for this class).Low ppm bottled water is fine as well.

6. Seeds--------ANY WILL DO

No nutes will be needed for the first 2 weeks of class---I will give more information and details as we get closer to the class---I will also try to give at least a weeks notice if there will be supplies needed. Look forward to talking to you soon.

k first of all stop typing in caps it makes u look stupider than you already look.
Tds, PPm, EC its all relatively the same, just how much parts per million (ppm) in the water, ie the total desolved solids (tds), and the electrical conductivity (EC) of your feeding water. Normal tap water is between 30-90 ppm i think, and they all just mean the amount of fertilzer or particles in your water. Strong fertilizing gets to 2000 ppm
