Hello Folks, Ole B.P. Here. Been a while since posting in forums but I'm sure some know me, some might not care for my internet persona and some old friends out there as well.
Anyway the g/f of 14 years and I decided to call it quits after a rocky last couple of years. We are on the same page and made the decision together.
So after some gut checking, I have made the decision to move west. Yes Cali!
I know I know, take it easy on me. There are rippers, and im not gonna get rich, and the market is saturated, its expensive to live, yadda yadda yadda.
Well I understand there are rippers and they will target me as being from out of state and more if I was to broadcast what I am doing>discretion
The market can be saturated(not my market
I am def. going with enough cash to make it a year with little/no return.
I am however looking for any info and/or guidance I can get. I have been out there years ago but have lost all ties with the area. I will be staying in a vacation property close to willits for my first month or 2, while looking for residence in the Ukiah willits Garberville Covelo upper lake area. I will be looking for a place with seclusion on a little acreage willing to pay around 12-1500$ a month and paying a year in advance. I don't think I will be looking for a "cool" landlord(probably just keep growing quiet. I will only be running a few 1000 watts inside and doing a somewhat substantial outdoor grow each summer. I have seen decent looking places in the hills on some acres, just going to have to find the right landlord(hopefully one that lives far away). *Are there any local swimming spots/bars/grow shops, where I could possibly mesh with some locals? I will be out there sept, 28 so im sure a lot of the locals ill be busy with harvest but that will give me best option on a new place as allot of the growers will be moving out in the fall/winter.
Me? Im in my mid 30's clean, professional, and would rather fix things than break them. I have about 15 years experience growing in soil. I have great credit but no landlord reviews as I have been a homeowner for the past 10 years. I have a huge diesel truck and a strong back! (I will be looking for work in retail management/sales or ag farming/heavy equipment operator.

Anyway I know this got real random but any thoughts or ideas will be much appreciated!
B.P.
P.M. me....

Well up here in northern Cali there's so much forest/open lands It wouldn't be hard at all to grow, even on a large scale. Our electricity bills though are a crime so be prepared for that. They tend to double or more when a heat wave hits.

In any case, welcome back and good luck!

Try Craigslist............I know people who scored a great rental on some rural property in the Sierra foothills. They ran a very specific add detailing exactly what they had in mind and within 2 weeks found a great secluded place with and old run down, but livable farm house, with a cool landlord who knows exactly what they are doing. He says he prefers pot growers, they tend to be quite & pay on time.......with cash!........good luck......

Hey thanks for the replies! Well, the time Is getting closer. I found one place and talked to the landlord. Its all the way up by Susanville in the middle of nowhere, but seems friendly.. Guess that's a good thing... I actually have a few places from lakeport up to Susanville to go check out as soon as I arrive and am settled if still available.. Im finding the hard part is someone letting me build a large greenhouse. *JJ* I looked through some of your carport grows(very nice!) but are you able to keep heat in there to get 2 harvests using lights depps? I am thinking I will need a full greenhouse? I hope to run 2 sets of 33(or so) plants in the greenhouse each summer. All this depends on finding the right place. Even a fixer-upper on nice land?? Its gonna be a long 3 day ride with no herb!!! :( Thanks a bunch fellas! B.P.

Oven on the east side of the Sierra's (like Susanville) you will need a full greenhouse with heat. Over on the west/valley side it depends on the elevation. Down on the valley floor, you can do a spring light dep in a carport & still have time to do a summer grow. As you said it will depend on exact location & southern exposure......good luck bro.

Very Cool! Not much of a rap guy but must say I enjoyed it. Less than a month and I'm on my way! Tick Tock Tick Tock Couldn't be more excited for my new beginning and to finally be able to work out my true passion legally!

The Rundown (Any thoughts?) Yes I'm somewhat nervous... I will arrive just as people will be harvesting and hopefully moving out of that 215 friendly secluded home on 20 acres lol. I do have a rental for the month of oct. and longer if needed. I will go directly to the dmv and get an id. Go see the good Doc. to get my card and buy some gsc's and O.G. for the stress :) I will then begin to focus on a place to live and grow. Hoping for something in the valley from mendo to Humboldt. I will be upfront with any prespective landlord as I want to build a greenhouse on property. Im hoping with my professional look and having cash up front I will be able to find one.(I will) Once I have found my place I will start the groundwork for the greenhouse. Followed by security ect... Whats stopping me? Why cant I do this? Why wont this work? 2 greenhouse runs of 30 plants, 2 pds per min. = I have to try!!

Check the "Gold country" rentals on craigslist......many landlords will be 420 friendly. I know someone who moved here from NY a few years ago, to grow weed. He grew indoors the first year and found a good outdoor rental near Grass Valley, the second year & pulled 70lbs his first year outdoors!.......good luck
