So I have been reading up allot of this condition for the past few months, I am 100% sure this is what I am suffering from. Please take this very seriously if you suffer from any type of morning nausea or stomach cramps you cant explain. Smoking makes them both exponentially worse at the time of the symptoms. Only a hot/warm bath and LOTS of sleep can make it go away for the day.

To start I am a young healthy male, early 20's. I go to the doctor regularly, work out, try to take care of myself. I have been smoking for 2 years and 7 months with maybe 10 days all together that I didn't get medicated. For the last 4-5 months I have been waking up with extreme nausea and stomach cramps. The nausea is to the point where I just have to sit down next to my toilet for a hour to hour and a half almost every morning, or whenever I wake up that day. I've become so used to this routine that I have to get up an extra hour before work every morning to compensate for the time i spend vomiting. I have been to two doctors in the last two months for this. One said it sounds exactly like a severe food allergy, so I went on anti-gens and cut out eating anything I was even remotely allergic to for a month and a half, did not help. The doctor then suggested my cannabis may be the culprit, its called Cannabinoid hyperemesis he says.... obviously i didn't want to believe that.

Next I went to my endocrinologist, I have thyroid issues so I said hey this could be it! Doctor does a blood test, stool sample. Both come back clean, nothing abnormal with my thyroid levels, no parasites found, nothing. Again my doctor says there is a strong chance I am suffering from Cannabinoid hyperemesis, I'm in California by the way, where doctors have been seeing this condition in ever increasing waves. My endo set me up with zofran in the hopes it would kill the nausea on days I had to go to work. It did NOTHING, this is what they give people for chemotherapy too.... It was worthless. The only other suggestion I could get which WAS being thrown around the whole time, stop smoking cannabis.

Its been one week since I stopped putting ANY type of cannaboid into my body and I feel amazing. No more nausea, no more vomiting. I miss getting stoned for sure..... but its just not worth feeling like you have swine flu every morning for 4-5 hours. I'm going to start back up in a few days time, but Instead of a gram per day I'm thinking half a bowl.

I just wanted to share my story with others because I have read so many of these story's lately. Its a real thing, Cannabinoid hyperemesis. If you have morning sickness, and stomach cramps, diarrhea. Its the cannabis.

Obviously this doesn't effect everyone it has everything to do with your individual body, I only smoked extremely high grade meds as well, nothing ever un-lab tested at at least 20% thc. Lots of concentrates tested around 60-85% thc, so the amount of cannaboids in my system was always very very high.

I was considering smoking a lower grade, but I might as well throw my money away. I cant stand anything that isn't literally ''perfect''. I feel like the harshness, taste, contaminants of crappy weed are just as bad.

I'm just going to cut out all the wax, full melt. And only smoke one bowl a day. I used to smoke 3 or 4 bowls in one session on my own. A few sessions a day. Take a few dabs, then when I'm out and about I would be using the atmos wax pen.

This was the outcome of ingesting LOTS, of very very potent products on a daily basis.

personally i never smoke more than a gram a day and i still can manage to maintain an all day high if i wanted to off that amount. I dont know why anyone would want or need anymore. I dont grow so that comes into it obviously. The worst ive ever experienced is the shits from how active it is in the digestive tract

I've been on the medical program here in New Mexico for several years now. You can only buy medical from licensed producers. I get some damn good weed and edibles. I've never had the symptoms you describe.

So if you can find a plant low in cbn and high in thc that would work better right?
Sadly lab test just add up all the numbers and just call it ''thc'', In reality i hate strains with high thc they make me feel the worst. I NEVER get sativas, sour diesel, jack herer, blue dream all make me feel horrible within minutes after smoking them.

I always go for strains with high cbn, I'm looking the narcotic numb effect. Not the soaring ''high'' I personally don't enjoy being ''high'', it makes me think weird personal thoughts among feeling like I'm going to throw up.

Yeah I grow my own meds, but mainly I just trade them for higher quality meds, so when it comes down to it I'm almost getting medicated for free. Just the cost of what it took me to grow it... which is substantially less then donation rates. So yeah I do smoke allot more then I need to, just because i have a decent amount laying around.

Yeah the shits are defiantly a side effect. If you eat edibles omg.... I've heard of horrible chronic diarrhea from the hubby and bhang bars.

It has nothing to do with the grade of the cannabis, Its the actual cannaboids in your body that cause the symptoms.

All of the medical in NM is tested and the thc levels are listed on the package when you receive it. Including the edibles. Like I said. I've never had symptoms like yours.

You obviously don't understand though.... I don't give a fuck if its tested or not. Most places just use old results from a year old batch of the same strain anyways instead of re testing it.....

This is a REAL condition, lots of people suffer from it. Ask your doctor next time you get your rec renewed about it if you don't believe me. This could happen from the shittiest Mexican brick weed as well. I'm not saying ''I smoke these high grade meds, its too strong so i get sick'' Its the build up of cannaboids to the point where your body start to reject it. I smoked the same shit, same amount for a year and a half every day before my symptoms started. Same for anyone else in my boat, just read a few other peoples experiences with cannabis and chronic nasea, abdominal pain.

Good I honestly feel like there's allot of people on this board that must be going through the same thing, probably all trying to cure it with cannabis too like I did.

Yes my appetite is very bottled up, I've just gotten so used to the vomiting and stomach cramps that I would rather not have something to throw up.. you know what I mean. So i guess its more of a conscious decision but yes my appetite/food intake cut by about 70%

Well it looks as if cannabis isn't for you, it's works for thousands of others though.
That pretty much does sum it up. I'm hopeful that after this break from cannabis in my body, that much smaller doses do work for me like it used to.

I despise the effects of alcohol, and I dont/wont ever use any real drugs.

I'm going to look into psychedelic mushrooms if the pot thing doesn't ever work out again.(not considering a real drug)

if pot isn't for you then I doubt 'shrooms are going to be any better.Probably much worse
I just hope a quick break from the constant intake of cannabis will be enough to get things back in check. It does sounds pretty stupid to even me honestly, shrooms are the only thing I would consider for recreational use though. I wont even touch alcohol.
