I think once you had it you would respect it as a tool, just like a knife, or anything else that can help you. I know what you mean though.

Cool thanks I'll check that thread out. I haven't actually ever hunted before and keep the shotgun for home defense, but I'm going to start hunting soon because I want to.
Clean, gut, butcher, package, defrost & cook it all myself - I don't like taking my game to "meat houses" as you never know whose you will get back or how it was treated.

I don't know anyone who hunts around here, but I did watch a video on a guy cleaning and gutting a deer in 2 minutes on youtube yesterday in case I ever need to remember a little bit to get some meat. Are you in Alaska? I don't know what great white north you mean lol. I'm in Nor-Cal myself.
