I would like to welcome you to the first RIU Movie night.
Please take a seat roll a few joints ... as we have adequate ventilation system in the house and prepare for a viewing ;)

Over the wkd I had the pleasure of seeing a great movie which coincidentally leaked on the internet. ;) The movie at hand is titled 'The Experiment'.

On many levels this movie is about the human condition ... as it is subjected by/through external forces which govern us everyday. I personally recommend that everyone who has some extra time sit down and watch this movie! I can not begin to explain how far in-depth this movie goes with the example it uses!

dam i just watched it. very good, but i dont really understand the ending. did they all get paid or just the one guy?

that was an awesome flick, i recommend it. probably not good for tripping tho.

Hmmm... interesting movie. I've studied psychology and this did not surprise me. I just didn't understand why Forrest got paid and the others didn't unless he was under different rules. Cause to me "no harm" means not being urinated on cause that ain't healthy. To me, he was the first to break the rules. I felt the ending didn't explain or better yet, form a "closure" on the story...

And if you live in a country where Peer 2 Peer networks and downloading is illegal. You are breaking the lawzzz. Thus, as you are downloading a given file, They see that and might send you an email via your Internet Service Provider. Use at your own risk.

Good morning my friends !
In hopes of starting a meaningful conversation ... I have compiled a set of questions for you to answer. I believe, these will pave the way to an interesting debate.

Without dissecting this movie into functional parts of what makes this story thought provoking, as this is how I would summarize this film in a nut shell, I would like to ask you all my friends a few simple questions.

1 What in your opinion, navigates/shapes (if I can use these word) one's moral
compass ?
2 How do you (personally) define morality ?
With that in mind, taking into consideration wast diversity shaped by many
cultural political and religious beliefs throughout many distinct geographical
groups of people .... is there such a thing as a universal morality ?

3 Clearly as it is shown in the movie, an individuals actions ... are a mere products of
a given environment ... in which one is brought up.
Would you agree ? With that at hand, is there a universal concept of human nature ?
4 Can highly stressful situations (incarceration) change/destroy this human nature
or do these situations ... simply bring something else, within a person into this
equation, like for example human instinct ? Is there a difference between
human nature and human instinct ?

5 Absolute power corrupts absolutely .... would you agree or disagree ?

6 In your opinion what would happen if the role of the two main characters
be reversed ?

Adrien Brody (Travis) in this case would be the guard.
Forest Whitaker (Barris) would be the prisoner.
