shit, my buddy got one of the coffee thermos kinds, and we couldnt get it to work. But I think its cause the bud we were trying was really dry and old (4+ months)
that's cool, well i have a friend that said he has one, but he wasn't really making a big deal out of it... but then i hear rumors that it really boosts the strength of weed... i just wanna hear about it from someone who isn't trying to sell me one, any opinions?

sorry I didnt give my opinion. I have used them in the past, specificaly the volcano one, believe its made in Europe somewhere. Very nice and solid piece of machine if you can justify spending the coin. However, this unit should pay for itself because a vaporiser you end up using much less weed to get the same high as its much more efficient, also more healthy because your not breathing smoke in. The flavour is very nice, its like smoking minus the smoke and a nice aftertaste. I dunno tho, for me nothing beats the social aspect passing a joint around brings.

oh yeah there are lots that are portable, either by battery or some sort of adapter. its all personal preference.

The only vaporizer Ive seen thats worth a pinch of shit is the Volcano. Ive tried a few others and thought they were completely ineffective. The Volcano however, if you view this as a matter of economics, is well worth the money.
Its great too if you have a friend thats never tried pot, but would like to try. You avoid that whole I think I feel it period and go straight to "Holly Shit I feel it!"
Its a slightly different high as you dont ingest all the tar and trace particles which in a way I believe contribute to the buzz much like in a cigarette. I think some purists will tell you that you loose something with a vaporizer, and that ultimately the best if not preferred high is by cooking.
That said, I love to use my Volcano before mountain biking because you dont get the shitty smokers cough and your lungs dont feel on fire. If I get to vote on your $500, get the Volcano Accept no substitutes!!!

volcanos are expensive as hell like 700bucks canadian last time i checked but my friend has one, its honestly worth the money, i bought a cheap 75 dollar glass dome vapouriser it takes about 10hits to even feel a buzz, but with the volcano the first bag if you do it your self your get pretty ripped, and your lungs feel like a million bucks after.

I got one of those cheap ones too. The ones that look like theres a fish bowl on the top...Its alright...like Taipan said, mine also takes about 10 hits to cop a buzz...tastes soooo good though!

Do yourself a favor and get a Volcano.
I did. It is the best.
Plus they've got a new one now with digital shit and a whole new system, although it's the same essentially.
I've also heard/seen videos of this great thing called a Super Vapezilla.

Guys I got this one its a great price and works great

You can use the shittiest 'erb, and if you toke 5 bags alone (which is about a bowl pack), you are fucking riiiiiped. Very high indeed.
I don't even spend the money on good nugs for the volcano, it makes schwag so much better than it would be if you smoked it.

People be careful buying vaporizers. About half of them suck and just burn your herb and you'll be pissed you wasted your money. A good vaporizer will only release 5 compounds vs 111 when smoking it. Its by far the healthest way to medicate. Here's a pic of mine it works quite well. It takes about 5 minutes to heat up so i start with a joint.
