The follow up question: Why do his lawyers who took the case pro-bono suddenly feel entitled to payment?
The man was found not guilty, and he may be entitles to cetain restitutions. However, I do find it interesting that his lawyers who took the case pro-bono suddenly are out to get paid. I smell ulterior motive...

Did you even read the article? It says how the prosecution tried to hide evidence and defense had spent 200 hours fighting. That's illegal. You really need to look up DISCLOSURE.

It CLAIMS the prosecution hid evidence as I read it. Either way, that does not negate what "pro bono" is: a donation for public good. If they had legal standing to prove the prosecution hid evidence; wouldn't there be a perjury charge brought up? Or, at least, a civil suit against the prosecution?

hmm i could be wrong but I do seem to remember him talking to greta van saying he wasnt taking a dime though im not sure what the actual translation in legal terms of "pro bono" means.

I can believe that he expects to not make a dime, because Zimmerman is broke, but that is not the same thing as pro bono. When Z wins his law suit against NBC, and after he writes his "tell all book", I am betting O'mara will be paid.
Florida is on the hook for expenses because that is Florida law. Just another reason why this improper prosecution should never have happened.

Yes, your own link is where I read it: "Though he and his fellow defense lawyers took the case pro bono, he said after all the money issues are settled, he'd like to be paid something"; about seven paragraphs into the article you posted. So even though he took the case with no expectation of compensation; now he feels he should get paid? Dick move attorney, dick move.
