Okay so i have been growing these for about 10-14 days and last night i went to go look at then and give them some water, i noticed the 2 bottom leaves where curling up at the end. I havn't used any nutes yet (was told to wait 21-35 days). I am wondering if the it is not getting enough light, or if maybe somehow the ph is wack. The soil is just stardard perlite and peatmoss. i got 2 150watt (5000k, 8000lumens) CFL about 2 feet away from it. or maybe if i should start giving them some nutes, i got some 20-20-20 maricle grow for veg groth. Anyone got any suggestions? I dont want my babies to die! I'll upload a picture as soon as i figure out how.

pictures.. all i got is a camera phone so hopefully someone has a good eye that fells helpful.

Looks fine.. The cotyledons (round leaves) will die off... and as the plant grows up, lower leaves will die off too...... I'd get that light closer or they'll stretch like hell.... about 5"..(check with back of hand if too hot)... As for the 20-20-20 I used that (not MG) nute for years but had burn issues... so when you do start to nute at 1 month use very little, till you see if they like it(about 2ml, or 1/8 teaspoon).. then only once a week.. water once every 3-4 days....... I misted a squirt or two daily..
I'm using a 3-1-3 now and have zero brown spots.. Luck.

okay thats reassuring, you guys are really quick to respond. i was worried it might be too late by the time someone responded but no with like an hour of posting. 2 responses. wow. Pot heads unite! So thank you very much for your response, i was a little worried about what i was doing, this is my frist time doing this. if you guys got any other suggestions on how to get a nice end result i am all ears.

AHH! well they kept growing till last night, all of a sudden they went super droppy and the 2 bottom leaves(not the ones that are suppose to fall off) started looking like death. I would think they are too young for deficiencies still, right? i am just wondering whats wrong, i looked the plant abuse chart and couldnt find nothing that fit to my liking but i dont really know what i am reading. so if someone could help me(again) that would be awesome cause i suck. thank you

If I had to throw a guess out there I would say PH levels are off. I was having the same prob with my babies in my hydro setup until I checked PH like twice a day. with CFL's I wouldnt think it was heat stress an with plain water, they would turn yellow before dying from a def. I don't grow in soil but your Ph should be 5.5-6.5 and be sure your mixture has plenty of air in it and do not over water. Hope this raises a flag and you find the problem...ALSO KEEP THE HUMIDITY UP! they cannot take in water through undeveloped roots so the leaves have to transpire water...I was also making this mistake until I lidded my babies for the first 7 days of life then kept them at like 60 - 70% humidity until good leaf development. Hope this helps, good luck bro

This is so confusing. well after my last post i waited another day and it returned to life fully, now it started turning back again... so confusing.. but sense its bigger now i figured maybe someone could see more detail. The photo dont really show this but on the leaves on the tips it gets red dots on each of the points its even on the leaves that are not yellow (which are only the bottom 2). so here is some more images. also if it is pH how would i regulate that?

I got the same problem when I first started my plants. It was a P.H. problem I solved it by just buying distilled water (it's usually 1 dollar a gallon where I am). Though the tip of the leaves became completely brown and burnt no red dots I'd definitely say it's a PH problem

IDK, looks like the babe needs some air movement too...gota get a fan on them early...the stems need to workout to get thicker with air movement. That, Ph and keep the RH up and keep the nutes light so as not to burn the babies. Alot to remember...they sell Ph UP and DOWN in Hydro stores and on EBay in kits...they last forever. You have to test the Ph then add up or down depending on the reading...it's vital to the plants survival that you keep them within a certain range. (6-7 or somethin with soil...i am hydro)

Also yes, distilled water is the best option and you can get it at Acme and Giant for like 70 cents per gallon. I refill the plastic jug with water out of my Brita Faucet mount...saved a bundle and then you dont have 100 jugs to toss out. Leave even filtered water out on the ocunter uncovered for 2 dfays to make sure any chlorine evaporates...thats all I got for now. good luck!
