Young Plant Problems, Please Help!!! (PICS INCLUDED)

my soil mix is 2 parts peat moss, 1 part vermiculite, 1 part perlite, and dolmite lime.

I have not added any nutr yet since they are about 2 weeks old and i started to see these problems.

i bought a mosser test kit and tested ph which seemed to be around 6.5-7
i did test for NPK and according to color chart they are in the high range.

Plant 1 the tallest... sprouted beautiful then after 1 week i saw the tips of the 1 set of leaves start to turn yellow, they then started to dry up and shrivel...it seems to have spread throughout the plant now!!

plant 2 the smaller one in pics looks like it is starting to have same problem...

what is going on here i water once every 2 days with distilled water

i forgot to mention i am growing these outdoors with direct sunlight...I live in the northeast and it has been really hot idk if that has anything to do with it.....

did you poke drain holes in the bottom? What kind of soil? What kind of lights

Im no expert by any means but they look overwatered

dude im not an expert either but it looks like nute burn of some sort. you said you havent given any nutes yet. could there be nutes in the soil already? that may be the problem. or like what boofin said maybe overwaterd?

hopefully someone more experianced will let you no the problems.

good luck with your grow!

EDIT: maybe you should flush? because you said it was high in NPK.i dont no if its to young to flush though. research it a bit more man, or wait for someone with a better idea.

the soil i made its 2 parts peat moss, 1 part vermiculite, 1 part perlite, and a couple table spoons of dolmite lime.......im using the sun for light

and yes i have more holes poked all threw out the cup, like 30 or more in each cup

Nute burn total nute burn flush your little soil cups out, npk shouldnt all be high n should be sufficient p and k should be a light haze... Just traces of it

i can have nute burn even though i never added any nutes? was it my soil mix that natuarlly contained the nutes?

if anything its probably nute deficiency coupled with possible harsh lighting/heat conditions. do you have records of the general humidity and temperatures the plants are in out-doors?

your soil medium combination has virtually no nutes in it. i wouldnt recommend using peat moss at all and keep the soil mix simple for now until you can weed out the problems.

if anything use a nute free soil combo just in a small container for until the plant grows its first set of real leaves, then transfer it into a larger pot with 20-10-10 as it starts looking for nitrogen at this point.

my soil mix is close to promix bx, I saw Steve Kurby make it on youtube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e_7Rdo7aq8I . What would you suggest for a good soil mix or product i can purchase? After the flushing the plants seem to have turned alot more green and not much yellowing. The dont seem to be growing much thought and Im sure its time to start feeding them......What product would you suggest that has 20-10-10 ratio that is found easily? Thank You for all your help guys....I will take some recent pics of the two plants I have left, the one that started out extremely nice and grew the fastest has died as you prob would guess, it was to late for that one as you can see in the pics...........I really would appreciate some good soil suggestions? and a nute product that works.....thanx again.....

I also know Im going to have to invest in lights, the sun is just not doing it I believe anymore, I just wanted to sprout these outdoors while I gathered the correct information and process.Any suggestions on lighting would be much appreciated......I am looking foward to any information you can provide.....

600 watt high intensity discharge is the best bang for your buck. You should buy a ballast for High pressure sodium and a hood that meets your lighting foot print needs. If you are going to run into heating issues then buy a hood that can vent the bulb space with a 6" fan.

miracle grow over/under watering protection soil can be found at lowes and home depot and has 20-10-10. should add about 30% perlite to it also for aeration.

if its focusing on healing it wont be growing too much for a few days, give it time. also i would not add any nutes to it at all, imo nutes are way overused and it usually causes problems later in the plants growth.

i hear ya there, i started a few plants outside and got almost nowhere. ended up moving them inside and put them under a t5 fluro for a while until getting a 400watt hid. if you do end up investing in lights make sure you get a sufficient one the first time to save money. i ended up wasting a few hundred on insufficient equipment.

- you would def be all set getting a 400watt, or 600 as medicalmary said, and htgsupply.com has good prices and good service. they have a combo ballast for around 180 that comes with an mh conversion and an hps for when u hit flowering.

ok guys I flushed the soil, they did well until i started to see growth. Now i see the tell tail signs of????????????? on my leave tips....is the nute burnt or what deficancy?? please help

plant 1: lower leaves have one curled and burnt at tip other leave on same leave has something starting on its tip

plant 2: problem with lower leaves as well

any suggestions; comments; opinions are welcome, please help this first time grower get a plant to grow at least one 1 foot......the sprouts hardly survive, what is first thing should i do? get the correct soil? and what would be correct?

****Please read previous posts to have more understanding of my problem*****

i would transplant into 3 gals with better soil, but just keep your current soil clump intact to disturb the plants less.

xenosis, you suggested "miracle grow over/under watering protection soi"....what is the exact name, i searched lowes and home depot online but could not find this soil

is it this one i found at lowes

Miracle-Gro 8-Quart Moisture Control® Potting Mix

i deff need to do something asap, tommorow, because they are worse today.........i believe its deff a deficancy because majority of my soil is micacle grow peat moss and the nute ratio of that is .05-.03-.02 or close...mixed wit perlite and vermiculite with a little dolmite lime

i just did a test for my nutes and seems to only have trace (low) elements of NPK.........i really believe this to be a MG deff... please help

any opinons are welcomed please!!

potasium seems a little high from mosserlee test "AND I DO NOT USE NUTES YET". I have read high pot can lead to MG lockout any ideas??

also they seem to do better when i bring them in at night, next morning looks a little more green and slows down the problem with my leaves....
