You lot complain about Trump and US politics?

Y'all said the same about Raptor and every other fast jet you ever built, and like them F-35 will deliver.

It'll just be late and way over budget like everything else.
No other fighter jet America has built has been so thoroughly overshadowed by new and disruptive technology.

Unmanned combat air vehicles- UCAVs- are the future of air superiority, surveillance, ground support and strategic interdiction, it's as simple as that.

Yes, they are the future and multiple countries are working on such things.

But that's the future, and not the here and now, and lessons learned now will, with some luck, mean some mistakes are not made in the future

Not future.

The chilling truth is that America will kill more people with remotely operated vehicles than with troops and manned machines any day now, if it hasn't already happened

But still not a viable replacement for manned aircraft.

Their time will come, and the way F35 changes the way each aircraft is integrated into the C&C net is also a big step in that very direction, especially as a pilotless aircraft is not limited by the meatbag at the controls and his physical limits.

The other issue, of course, is selling it to certain groups in society, you look at how they kick off over drone strikes so imagine what it would be like with "robot planes". And that's before we think of the loonspuds thinking that all the remote control stuff would turn against their masters.

F35 may well be the final series with a meatbag playing with his joystick, especially as it would also save the military a fortune in hotel bills.

I think you're actually confirming my point here.

No, we are agreeing about the future, there will be more unmanned vehicles of all kind used in the future, and F35 is a part of that process which goes against what you say regarding it being obsolete, etc.

But enough about Bill Clinton, this about how you REALLY fuck things up as in how the governing political party in the UK is heading for full blown implosion, and the potential effects of them utterly bollocking Brexit which will have repercussions across more than just Europe.

On the bright side, Boris Johnson has done us all a favor by resigning.

It's actually a loss, for the man behind the buffoon image is actually one of the sharpest knives in the box and you can always tell how dangerous someone is to the status quo by the way they are attacked in the media for some of the things that have been leaked could only have come from his own side. But he'll never be party leader, not unless the party does completely render itself asunder into two completely separate forms of centre-right politics.

But like him or loathe him, he is a party heavyweight and between him, Davis and Rees-Mogg that is one hell of a rallying point as today is when May unveils the Brexit White Paper, the Government's plan for Brexit, which will immediately be torn apart by all sides and could trigger more resignations and absolute chaos, in the grand political scheme of backstabbing and skullduggery he is one of the enemies you really want kept closer to you than your friends.

Make no mistake, this is a level of clusterfuckery, foisted upon us by the inept Cameron for populist reasons with absolutely no thought for the potential consequences, that is now reaching a stage of "farce" which makes Bush the First's "Lame Duck" period look positively competent and you think you're hard done by with Trump?

There's no doubt you've buggered yourselves in splendid fashion with Brexit.

It will be fun to watch the Trainwreck at the safe distance of the opposite side of the Atlantic.

That said, Donny Tinyhands is making even Democrats nostalgic for Shrubbery.

As I said, the biggest issue was Cameron, he decided to use a referendum as a means to win votes, as he could not do anything about Lisbon since the previous Labour shower of shite ratified it on the sly, back in 2013. The referendum was then enshrined in law, but he was so confident that the people of the UK would follow his lead he point blank refused to allow any planning for what to do if the electorate said "Out", which was actually guaranteed thanks to the sight of tens of thousands of economic migrants and benefits shoppers marching across Europe to reach what they believed to be the Promised Land. Add in Cameron going to Brussels and asking for fuck all and STILL managing to come back with less and the result was going to be obvious, especially when the scare stories were the only weapon the Remain side had, their campaign was a mess.

Then Cameron backs out of a clear promise he made and ran away like a coward instead of doing what he swore he would do, leaving, eventually, May to hold that poisoned chalice.

That's where it went wrong, 2013. Then from 2015 when Cameron STILL didn't plan for all eventualities. His ego grew too large, he believed his own hype, that always ends in only one way.

May? She was only ever going to be a stopgap, she's out in the summer of next year when whatever failure they call the Brexit deal is finalised. Never mind a lame duck, that quack's been a paraplegic since the day she was anointed leader. And she knows it.

Well, the White Paper is out and whilst I wait on the whole document so I can see the detail, it's clear it's so much of a Shite Paper it should be sponsored by Andrex.

This is going to get messy.

They did a better job on your lot, so easy to pull the wool over everyone's eyes and you can't even see how they managed it despite all the investigations.

You'll be buying the Navy version of the F-35 from us; you know, the piece of shit that doesn't work, never will and is already obsolete but still costs taxpayers trillions?
I could ask have you ever seen the F-35 perform but I already know the answer. New tech will always have its bugs to work out, but the F35 is a great fighter jet and will/can own the skys.
I do want to know why you say it is obsolete ? Please don't say because we have drones. I will make you look fucking stupid in that argument.

No, I believe the pressure has been applied fairly equally world wide.
You forget we “aint" as smart as back when America was great.

The "pressure" has been no different to any other time since the Cold War started at the end of WW2, the US/UK/Europe have been just as bad insofar as interfering with other countries, and even within themselves as we saw Obama take one stance regarding Brexit, which did piss off a lot of Brits and may well have done more to affect the end result than any Russian activity, and Trump take another. The only difference is that there has been decisions taken by voters which have returned results that a shouty minority did not want, and rather than admit that they fucked it all up on their own with no help from anyone else they invent a Bogeyman, which just makes them look even more ridiculous than they already did thanks to the ever-increasing hysteria as, despite the time and money spent on investigating such things in numerous countries, no evidence that Russia or any other country had a direct and/or significant effect on the outcome of any election or referendum in the last 3 years.

And the worst thing about it is that the average intelligence across various countries has dropped significantly as they would rather believe any old lies and propaganda on Facebook than actually spend a few minutes looking at what has actually happened.

If they don't work and are already obsolete why does Bernie want them in Vermont? Why does your candidate, continue to support this, as you say, "piece of shit."

Sen. Bernie Sanders supports basing F-35 in Burlington

Enlighten me.

Seriously, I'm all ears.

UCAVs can already deliver ordinance to a kitchen table anywhere on the planet and they can already outturn a meatbag. The F-16's greatest performance limitation was the pilot, that's not news.

AI now beats the world's best at Chess and Go, the mechanics of furballs aren't that complicated.

Even if it hasn't all come together just yet, it will happen soon.

What say you?
