How does one not exist in two dimensions?

I'm just being difficult. It seems you have a lot more knowledge under your belt than I do to be completely honest.

For the sake of discussion could you explain why one could not exist in two, and also why possibly both are not one to begin with?

I once had a thought, not knowing much about physics that our universe was just a power source. We all spark and perish. Over and over. From organism to galaxy. Over the course of billions/trillions of years of time, there would have been enough energy stored into the ultimate black hole that is the whole universe at the end of time and space collected to power one whole universe for eternity.

Odd thought.. I probably sound completely nuts sorry I am stoned out of my mind.

Also I remember once that I was watching a video made by that guy on string theory talking about how two strings expand into a membrane and when they hit each other it causes a pulse that would create a universe. Then I thought that maybe it hits at billions of points at once and the universes being created are the consciousness itself.

Double slit shows that consciousness changes the behavior of physical objects, so consciousness must mean something right?

People are either for the god complex or against it. Similar to how some are democrat or republican. A lot of people are very one sided about it and I don't understand how you could even trust your measly human brain to come up with an assumption about all of this because it is very obviously not clear to us what-so-ever.
I like to believe all of this is here for a reason, however with the harshness of reality, it seems as if you really are nothing but a cell to something greater. And in death you would rot in the ground. And is this bad? I don't think so. Life is enough, on your death bed, I am sure that it would be accepted. If not, then.. I don't know you must live in a completely different universe than I do. And it seems quite apparent that everyone is on a different realm.
The double-slit experiment shows probability waves being altered by being observed, but the observer does not have to be conscious. The observer can be a non-conscious machine and it will still alter the probability waves. I'm pretty immature when it comes to death, very greedy and I never want this experience to end. Maybe if I get to the point where I have no meaningful faculties left, then I may see things differently, but if I can still eat, read, think, smoke and whack off (not necessarily in that order) I can't see ever wanting to die...

Ah, that aspect flew by me.

Forgot about that entirely.

As you age and get pains, and decompose so to speak. I am sure that a lot of your wrongs will be righted(being a good person). I have been on my death bed it seems a few times and I can say that the moment of death is nothing short of the most peaceful experience you will ever have. You surrender and that is it. You should not be afraid to die, it happens to everyone and everything.
I'd say work on meditation, learn more about yourself, and you will realize that death is the least of your concern. I like this epicurian quote.

"Death does not concern us, because as long as we exist, death is not here. And when it does come, we no longer exist."

Exactly. Consciousness has nothing to do with the double slit experiment. It's measuring that causes the change.

Just like when you check your tire pressure you change the measurement by letting some air out. Whether or not the tire pressure gauge is conscious means nothing.

Not consciousness, but the act of measuring. The machine that measures the location of quantum particles does not have consciousness. -sorry i didn't read the later comments before i posted.

Regardless, your ideas are pretty damn neat.

  • Honestly, I don't really know what to think based on that wiki article. Maybe he could produce some sort of natural antiseptic? Who knows....

    Cool story though!

There's a lot of articles on it, it seems as if it did really happen. But it's just so odd I can't help but be skeptical. Really cool though, something I read says that the nucleus of his body cells are still functioning although his brain is not.. Very strange..

Yeah I've read about double slit for a couple of years now and that very aspect flew by me. I think it's because everyone makes it sound like some kind of universal thing like 'WE are important because WE make reality' which is true in a since. The measuring device wouldn't even be here if we weren't right? :p but you know how people blow that kind of thing out of proportion like I was watching videos on sacred geometry once and a lot of them ended up being something along the lines of 'DECEMBER 21ST, 2012 OUR CONSCIOUSNESS AS A SPECIES WILL UNIVERSALLY CHANGE' blah blah.. lol
Thanks man! They are a little bizarre sometimes, I'm always ashamed of myself because I never have the sufficient knowledge to understand how thoughts such as those could be backed up. Hopefully someday I'll get a decent education.

Unless you answer to a higher power, like me.
Allah tells me what to do :D
You tell you what to do... but you give yourself the psychological scapegoat of telling yourself that you actually weren't the one who made that bad decision.

But isn't that it? Isn't that the major perk of having a religion? Getting to blame our shortcomings on something other than ourselves? Telling ourselves it's just not our time and it will come soon enough to justify our procrastination?

Fuckin figures....

Yo High, it's no worries bro. We are all different and have different interests, we tend to strive in knowledge about the things we are passionate about rather than the things that bore us. We can only memorize so much before we start to forget the information we had learned years ago. Sometimes i feel like my brain is a hard drive, the more information i gather, replaces the information i once had. It's still there, everything deleted from the hard drive still exists until it is overwritten by different information.

Your ideas are awesome, and i think what makes them so awesome is the fact that you take the time to tell us that the ideas you have are just that... thoughts, fun things to think about, awesome concepts and mesmerizing stories. Things that most of us have never heard of, and few have only ever imagined. To spread them is to throw candy at the parade... those of us who still feel the curiosity we felt as a child hungry for the ideas run out and grab them, taste them, and yearn for more.

Someone like you, and a few others here i admire. To be able to hold onto a thought, without accepting it, is a triumph worth admiring. Something most people can't do when the candy is just so good, so tasty, they can't let it go and beg for more and more. Some of us drop the candy, and search for new, different and unique experiences to indulge in.

I should write like this more often, it was fun. You the man High, always making me think.
