"yield" description query

(****sorry, I accidently posted this as a reply at newbie central...wasn'y paying attention, ah...it happens!)
OK....so it's been like 20 or so (gulp...can't believe I'm admitting to that!) years since I've done this...memory seems to be a little rusty on some of the finer points! Plus, I don't think I've ever seen this:
I'm choosing seeds for purchase now, and looking at the seed details, etc., and I notice on "yield" the grams are stated plus "m squared". You know..."m" with a little 2 to the upper right hand side....
I may be missing something really simple here, but wtf does that mean?!

Meters squared is the m and the little two basically if u had a scrog i think it is u would get that many meters squared from each plant

Yeah! What he said is basically right. What they are talking about is, you should yield "that amount" of bud per square meter of grow space. Don't be too disappointed if it doesn't live up to your expectations, thier figures are notoriousely overzealous (read bullshit).

Things have changed a lot in 20 years! But you have come to the right place. There is a great deal of knowledge to be shared here. May I reccomend that you spend a good deal of time just looking around and reading whatever threads look interesting to you (before you actually try to grow). That will eliminate most of the pitfalls made by your average over-anxious newbie. Good luck and welcome to the "Club".

Sorry for the delay in my "Thanks"!! I appreciate the info. Now that I know what the "m" means...I would have to agree with you that two meters squared does seem like an "overzealous" (read: bullshit!!!) forecast!
You know, since I'm here, there's something I have to say:
I haven't been around this culture for 20 years...since before getting married. For a few reasons, I have come to a place where I am again smoking, and have decided to grow. Over the years I have participated in many boards and forums; some for school, some for social groups, a couple for surfing (the only sport I participate in), and a few others. You guys (and girls too!!) are the only board I have EVER seen, where most everyone has something INTELLIGENT to say to your post, and can refrain from name calling and general "shit starting" for the sole reason of starting shit. In short....a very intellectual, peaceful, knowledgeable place and group of people.
WOW....does "society" (you know what I mean there!) have it all wrong.

Thanks for being there for the new (and new again!) guys and your patience with all the repeat questions. I'm excited to "be back", and excited about my new little "cyber family"!
