yeamaybe you should test that out on one plant just incase something bad happens!!
sorry to say youre way off with this one. yeast isnt a starch, its a living organism comprised of proteins, peptides, aminos, nucleic acids all that good stuff. it is aerobic and uses SUGAR c6h12o6, for energy. then its bi-products are co2, alcohol and more yeast. yeast is used to convert sugar and water into co2 to supplement the plants co2 needs. it will eat any sugar you have in your solution. this is why they use it in breweries. the yeast eats the carbs, like wheat and barley, digests it and produces alcohol. it cant possibly be good for your plants. use anything with sugar in it and you will see a nice coat of yeast all around your solution. im a biology major in grad school and thats the facts.yeast is a starch, which is a carbohydrate. plants convert yeast into long term storage molecules for energy. i just took final exams for Biology: Plants, People & The Environment and got a good grade - however, i have not tested this on weed so i cant say for certain that the weed will appreciate it.
what kind of yeast was it? a brand name? im sure those brand names have extra stuff, and you didnt state whether or not it was MADE for plants so i cant say either way. im really stoned though, so i assume the solution was for plants since i cant think of any other reason to mix yeast/sugar. id say youre okay, keep an eye on them though.
thx
I wrote this thread in a panic after spilling it
after sensi answered me I finally calmed down and gave it some though
but i just had to be 100% sure
I think ill be ok
anyway if worse comes to worse I am using General hydroponics super concentrated formula Flora Nova
So a sys flush shouldnt be too bad
definately wont hurt the pockets
damn your quickon top of that the yeast may take the place of beneficial bacteria and funguses that your plant uses. trial and error will tell you if it is ok or not but id be careful not to do that again.

thanks for clearing it up, i remember now where i read about yeast - it was either used during cellular respiration or fermentation - i even checked my notes just to see what i missed. i apparently forgot about the conversion part, i guess i should have studied harder lol. but when you say its full of proteins/peptides/aminos - those are all related in the same organic molecule. peptide bonds are made from protein, and amino acids are the monomer of protein. but you already know that, good thing we have a bio major here.
i totally mixed up yeast and starch though, sorry about that. starch is what the plant stores for long term energy. like i said, im really stoned.![]()
