I am growing on my terrace for the first time. Right now I have 7 plants of Conquistador. I know nothing about the strain; a medical grower friend gave me the seeds and she hadn't tried them yet. I'm setting up a hydro system now and I'll be growing some that way as well.

What can you tell me about the strain? Anything special I should know about taking care of the plants? Right now they're growing in a mixture of Miracle Gro organic and locally-produced organic potting soil with worm castings.

I'm so excited to have found this board! :)

Connie is a commercial yielding strain created up north.
You cant buy it anymore so get really excited.

Its a huge yielder in the Hash Plant family.

Thank you Subcool! I am really excited to have them! I got *70* seeds from a medical grower friend in the NW US! I will be sure to post pics and to hang onto some of the seeds. Will also spread a couple of cuttings here in the NE so we keep it alive! xoxoxo

I would be happy to share. I have a ton of these seeds. Not sure the best way to do it though...

I'm in NY. I'm a woman, been smoking for 20 years, finally decided to grow my own. I'm not sure what would be the best way for us to get in touch with each other but I would like to get this strain going in these parts...do you have a PO Box or a friend who could receive them for you? I don't mind mailing you a few if we can figure out how to do it so we both feel safe.

Would you mind sharing a few with anyone else? We can communicate via pm, I just did the same thing with hydrotech364 the week before last and the seeds got here just fine (and really fast!), but I'm afraid I'm having a hell of a time with the Papaya seeds.

Hey hydro. I'm not sure what's going on with the Papaya, I'm having a hell of a time getting them to germinate (all started last Saturday). I got two to germ, but only one's broken through the soil. I'm still trying to germinate the rest, though, not giving up til the fat lady sings! I've been paying extra special attention to the Papaya, though, keeping them warm and just moist enough.

I've always used the paper towel method with excellent results. The Cali x BB seeds are doing very well, got a full 80% germ and sprouting rate on them now (still letting that last one set on its paper towel!) and they're getting ready to take off.

Yeah, and if I can only get one Papaya to sprout, then it doesn't matter the sex, I won't be able to keep that strain pure unless/until I get more Papaya to cross with.

They've been kept very moist for a week (started them last Saturday afternoon). Do you really think that soaking them will make a difference at this point? One of the Papaya seeds had a little white tip poking out yesterday, this morning it's like it sucked it back in. Grow! Dammit, Grow!

Keep the germ temp at 90 degrees and you'll have 90% germ rate, ... if the seeds are good. Watch out for drying out.

Ok, no issues with drying out. But I've GOT to find my OLD heating pad. The damned new ones ALL turn themselves off after two hours! The one old one I have doesn't do that.

Why the fuck does everyone think I need to be protected from myself???

i hope so....cuz im really considering saying fuck it and germinating some PPP, hijack and alpha diesel if this shit keeps up!

im trying to use up all my freebies first!

All I have are freebies (bagseed and hydrotech's gifting). But, since I've got two KNOWN strains, I want to keep that shit going, you know? That's why I wonder about hardiness of varieties and how it's expressed in the seeds themselves, if at all. I immediately saw a huge difference in the seeds between the Cali x Big Bud seeds and the Papaya, and now the germ rate is showing a difference as well.

Then again.. I've been such a head for so many years, maybe I shouldn't grow anything called "green crack", eh?
