Majority is based on AI and software systems. They are far from perfect

So if you're account is using a VPN, Tor or otherwise Ip address which has been linked to problematic behavior you get kicked into an AI software system which utilizes keywords etc and past behavior to see if your comment lives up to "community standards"

This is how Ig and Fb, and Twitter do it as well, since these are such large corporations the majority that do get caught are against community standards but its not unheard off to see simple words or regular comments be rejected too.

I probably wouldnt be too miffed over it to make a forum post imho its just realizing these systems are far from perfect but there is no physical man power to deal with the overwhelming amount of community posting content on any site,

I mean we cant keep up here on a "small" forum compared to say something like fb imagine how bad theirs are

I'm not miffed. I started getting rejects for repeating words in a story, mostly Trump's words. The rejects kept getting worse and I never appealed. It's shouting into a void anyway although I think it's important to point out that Trump is crazy, to mock his ridiculous behavior.

I got plenty of laughs. The pisser about it is that I was trying to run a business and I couldn't do anything on the business fb page either.
Point made.

Censorship gets serious when it affects a person's livelihood. What you experienced echoes the blacklisting that went on during the red scare of the 1950's. It seems that the Chinese government has already adopted this tool as a way to punish people for speaking out.

This rise from service platform to infrastructure has allowed WeChat to become an easy one-stop shop for a large portion of the government’s censorship, fulfilling its role as an authoritarian technology. As the publishing platform of virtually all media outlets in China, as well as the newsfeed provider of most citizens, information flow can be strictly controlled with ease, effectively making WeChat a propaganda machine of the state. This is accomplished by Tencent’s censorship algorithms, ever-improving due to stress from Beijing such as monitoring by government agencies in “special operations.”11 Beyond simply blacklisting words and phrases, the real-time censorship technologies have even been improved to recognize images, and any text that may be contained in those pictures, using a self-reinforcing machine-learning approach to generate dynamic blacklists.12

WeChat is used to communicate with others, conduct business, make purchase, pay for groceries, set dates for social engagements, pay bills, transfer money between accounts. Being blacklisted on WeChat does major harm.

What a great tool for authoritarian control.
