Hey guys i put a batch of clones from my cloner to my small vegger, and come to check ph this morning and it looked like this...

Theres a rusty in color spotty goo on the end of these roots. nothing is in the water just some on the air stone??? I just got this air stone yesterday does that mean its defective now? Are my plants getting TOO MUCH O2 ?

This is my first hydro setup. Im fresh off the hydro boat so some good learning from yall would help alot!
Tell me how to combat this creature that suprised me pretty much over night.
Should i be worried?
Can anyone tell me WTF im dealing with?
Are these clones done for?
Whats the cause of this?

Keep your temperatures in check. What is the water temperature? Hydrogen Peroxide can help kill stuff and is "natural". Small Amounts of diluted Bleach also work. I personally keep my temps in check and use aquashield and I never have problems with slime/goo/root rot, or anything like that. Cleaning after use is when I use the diluted bleach solution but plenty of people will tell you, and successfully have added it right to their cloner or hydro system to eliminate any simple organisms like that.

TTemps are cconsistently at 68-75•F ....so put aquashield in it or hydrogen peroxide? How much if that's say 50qt.

I clean with bleach and run aquashield too. I have gotten slime before because I wasn't running anything in the res so I bought some aquashield and it ate the slime in 5-7 days. I flushed the roots for a couple minutes with bleach water and got the slime off by hand... then put it in a new res with aquashield. The bottle says 5-15ml per gallon; I throw about 8-10 per g in my res every 3-4 days. You can use 39% h202 (not the shit they have at walmart) to clean and sterilize instead of bleach. You can run h2o2 in your res which keeps your water sterile. If you use h202 it will kill the benes in your aquashield so you can't use both. You either keep everything sterlized with 39% h202 and sm-90, or run benes like great white, aquashield, hesienberg's tea, etc. You can clean with h202 if you want, but I just use bleach.

You have to make sure that tote isn't letting light through. I assume you have, but if not you can hold the lid up against bright light and if you can see any light shining through at all you need to fix that.

Yea no light gettin in! But I put hydrogen peroxide in and it looked like it cleared it up, will have to buy some aquashield then. Hopefully it comes quick !

h2o2 kills good and bad. only use it for emergencies then get the aquashield and pondzyme(beneficial bacteria) for huge, healthy roots. i bet you are getting light leaks, take the top of the tote and hold it up to a light, if you can see light so can your water. and 68-75 is not in check, below 70 always. try frozen waterbottles.

Is aquashield used often in hydro grows? I just as minimal mistakes as possible. Hydro is less forgiving...asking since I have to get aquashield maybe there is other things I would benefit from if I had here just in case. I'm trying ti get a perpetual style grow going. And these are we're clones go to veg for the first 2 weeks. Then they are put into a bigger veg container so roots don't get tangled, then into aeroponic system for flowering. Please I need all the help and knowledge I can sponge!

take a look at my thread in hydro, my 3 stages of flower, i have run a perpetual system for years and only do hydroponics. also check out stinkbuds thead(first 100 pages) called, harvest a pound every three weeks. beneficials like pondzyme and aquashield will save you a ton of troubles.

I run both but only pondzyme when roots are looking little off white... But usually I don't have too with aqua shield I run my buckets upto 72f no issues... Over that frozen bottles for a bit.
