go to the lucas formula. i had the same issues your having. i think somethings out of balance with your nutes.
i went to lucas and now i dont have the problems i used to.
if you use tap water use GH HARDWATER micro.
lucas formula is 8ml per gallon micro and 16ml of bloom per gallon - thats it.
good luck.

lucas is 8ml GH hardwater micro per gallon (if u se tap. my water is 7.5ph and 350ppm out tap so i use hardwater micro) and 16ml of GH bloom per gallon.
if you use water from store you dont need the hardwater micro you can use regular GH micro.
google "lucas formula", there good info in the thread. basically every nutrient you need to grow is in the 8 16 formula so they say no need for other nutes additives.
once i started lucas growing has been so easy.
one thing i have noticed using lucas is after a month (same res mix) or so my younger plants will show silver spots on the leaves. when that happens change the res ASAP and they'll recover and be all good. it just happened to me last night, they look great tonight.
i top off the res with regular lucas formula (8ml 16ml). you there is an add back formula in the lucas thread that is very handy if your ppm drop too low. mine always rise so i havent used it.
im sure there are many other ways to grow hydro easily but this worked for me. i was killing plants left and right trying the three part mute method.
oh yea when i mix my nutes using lucas i normally have to add a little PH down to get to 5.9. my mix always stays at 5.9.

thanks for the input... i did research google and went and bought the 2.5 gal gh grow and bloom for hard water... it sucks that my ppm is 500 right out the tap but thanks to you i can now deal with it... k+

I start in rockwool and then place into the flood table filled with hydroton. The roots will leave the rockwool and move into the hydroten.
Hydroton does absorb moisture, and it stays moist in all the nooks and crannies. The rockwool also loads up on moisture but should not water log the roots as they have spread out of it.
You want to water the roots, but also give them oxygen. The damp hydroton is perfect.
You just need to learn what the plants need, and then adjust the flow times.
For me, my table fills and starts to drain in 2 min. I let it run for 5 min to allow the hydroten to soak it up. Some flood for 15 min but 5 works for me.
I flood at 9AM-9:05AM, 1PM-1:05 PM, 5PM-5:05PM and 9PM-9:05PM.
Ok, so its 4 times and not three, but it works. Lights on from 9AM to 9PM. I do not water during lights out other than for that last cycle time.
I use the same times during veg when my lights are on 24/0.

You just need to watch your plants to learn what they want. It is easy to over water and under water in Ebb & flow.
Pick 3-4 evenly spaced flood times. Figure out how long it takes for your table to fill and flood out and add a few min to that. Then watch the plants and if the show under watered, add more to the flood time. If they show over watered, cut back on the flow time or remove one complete cycle.

Ebb&Flow is more forgiving compared to bubble and NFT hydro in that if you have a pump or air stone failure, the Ebb&flow media holds a reserve of moisture and oxygen in it. In bubble and NFT, if a pump fails or your air stone fails, the plants can start to suffer pretty quickly.

hey kahtn ...i dont think its to much watering because i flood my plants every other hour for 15 mins and there fine, IMO it looks like a nute prob like P or K, how often do u change your rez?? ( dont lie,lol)...and whats the NPK numbers on the bloom nutes your useing? and do use a cal/mag with ur tap water?....meangreen

1 only water my mother plants 2 times in a 24 hours, and i have a 24/7 light on my vegging plants. so if i water my large mother plants 2 times in 24 hours, dont worry about watering your smaller flowering plants plants 4 times. I only water my flowering plants 3 times a 12/12, and i have friends that water 2 times in a 12/12. it doesnt look like a watering issue. if your ppms are 2000, you need to get that lower. plus it depends on the strains you grow, some strains can eat up all the nutes you can throw at them, some cant.

one more thing, are you using rockwool and if so what size are your cubes.

ok so i use the redrocks , hydroton? the strain is white berry, i got all three hard water, grow and bloom... i only needed the hard water micro... the guy at my hydro store say my tap water has enugh of the potassium and magnesium.. so no worries... i set my times 15 on 4 times when the lights are on then 1 time just before the lights come on... ill send pics later if theres any change... gonna reconstruct my room after this harvest... thank god for every two week harvests...

thanks to every one for there opinions... p.s. temps stay at 75F lights on and 70F lights off..
