I just went in to take a peek at my spouts and I couldnt believe it, there was a house fly(one of the metalic shiney ones) and he was just walking around on the jiffy pucks. Its mid December, how did he get in there? than I went grabbed a knife and came back he had his plunger sucker thing deep into the jiffy sucking out the nutients. So i took my knife and super stealthily snuck up on him and shanked him right through the belly hahaha
amazing cause usuallly they get away pretty quick, I think he was drunk on the nutes... mmmmmm

hes in the garbage now, he oozed a bit of bug-juice all over my jiffy puck... hope he didnt put maggots in the pucks, but maybe it will give them some more nutrients.

Are house flies ever a real threat to a harvest? Im not too worried just thought it was a bit weird for december since I havent seen a fly in months

Didn't you know food should be the last of your worries with flies...Watch out for your Weed!
...seriously though I'm guessing it's just a random thing...and probably was thirsty is my guess

what do you mean with food?

Have house flies ever hurt anyones weed?

He wasnt really interested in the plants from what i could tell, I think he got a bit stoned on the nutes though cause he didnt move out of the way of the crushing knife

I was just kidding, house flies usually are all over your food not your plants, unless it's rotting...that fly was probably too high off your second hand smoke and got lost/attracted by the bright lights...
As far as I know house fly have never hurt anyone, I don't think it'll hurt your plants unless you are germaphobic,...I just guessed it was trapped in your room and it got thirsty.

I could just steep my ciggerette buts and spray that on if I need to, dont really need anything at this point, it was just that one fly, no idea where it came from. I dunno about that bucket of mold hes got there....
