Yo dude thing is, when I first saw the AG....it made things "appear" so simple and it really motivated me to start a grow. I realize now that growing in the AG is probably the SAME as using a real Hydro system.
I might never have even bothered if it wasn't for the YouTube video's of AG grows which I saw. Seeing grow's that people built from scratch was intimidating to me and I always felt like...F-it I'll just leave it to the pro's and enjoy the fruit of their work.
But..the AG got me going and after now understanding so much more I do plan on moving up to something like the Roseman Bubblepoincs...
the AG was freaking expensive. I look back now and think GEEZE WTF....but....if I hadn't of done that, I might not be growing at all today...

You may have missed the point. A/g's are a good place for novices to start and we're not commercial growers. It's compact, self contained and if you follow a few common sense rules they're pretty user friendly for someone who wants to grow just enough for personal use. I harvest less than a couple of ounces a month, not pounds, but my energy costs are insignificant and a lot less than a friend who went whole hog on hydroponics and lit up his crop with about 4,000 watts of electricity and fans he had to pay for. Eventually he got kicked out of his apartment because it started to stink like a grow op. There's also something to be said too about spilling 112 ounces of nutrient mix that can be sopped up with a bath towel compared to the 18 gallons that leaked out of his reservoir over a long weekend while he was gone. It flooded everything in his apartment and ruined the ceiling of the one down stairs. He still looks down his nose at my little A/G but my buds are just as good as his.

I don't get this as I've said before. This is an Aerogarden forum. Why do you invade this forum and trash the Aerogarden? I use it because I have a very limited space and IT WORKS FOR ME! I've had a few successful grows and I don't want to harvest pounds, I just want to grow my own stash as is the case with a lot of other Aerogardeners . I'm about finished with an AK-48 grow that's doing VERY well. I'm starting another in about 2 weeks. Again, IT WORKS FOR ME AND A LOT OF AEROGARDNERS. I wish you all the best with your other techniques but give us a break!
You guys do understand that A/G's weren't designed for growing M/J right? It's a compact, self contained system designed to grow herbs and vegetables but with a little ingenuity you can grow some great buds. If you don't like it quit bitching to those us who do and use something else. If you spring a leak in an A/G you can clean up 112 ounces a whole lot easier than the 18 gallons that got loose in a buddy's apartment.
