Yes San Pedro cactus is Peyote. Look up on Erowid for desired dosages and effects.

San Pedro and peyote are different cacti that both contain mescaline.
Peyote and mescaline are both illegal in the us.
San Pedro is not illegal, but has much lower levels of mescaline than peyote, do an extraction or make tea from San Pedro for best consumption.

Lol, it is NOT peyote.
Peyote is a type of cactus.
It is san pedro, which is another type of cactus.
Both of them contain mescaline, which is the active component.

The peyote buttons have more mescaline although they also have some unpleasant alkaloids.
The torches have less, but they make up for it in size.

About a forearm's worth of cactus will make for a very nice day, like a long day at the beach that feels like it lasts forever.
