Would this method work?

So I'm not sure what the application would be for this (besides letting the plants pretty much water themselves), but it was a concept that hit me and I was curious about.

Picture pretty much explains it all for ya... I might pop some plants into something like this since all my regular grow attempts end in horrible disaster (mostly my own newbie fault)

This is very interesting have seen grows where they have a pot with soil and holes in the bottom going into a dwc bubbleponics so it's similar. I wonder if this is as effective..

ya, that will continuously have the soil wet and the roots wont be able to breath.

I figured as much

maybe if there was some way to limit the water that was allowed through in some manner

/shrug, who knows I was just curious

ya, maybe a flow valve on the holes that is on the timer. or maybe put a bubble stone in the pot

just get an earthbox or look up global buckets its a bigger DIY version
