Would this Bulb be Better for Vegging than a 250W HPS?

I know Metal Halide bulbs are better but I'm just wondering in particular if this bulb was worth any stock or if anyone had any feedback on use with these type of bulbs.

It's widely recognized that Metal-Halide is best for vegging, and High Pressure Sodium is best for flowering. You can do both stages with both types of bulbs, but the results will be different. Metal-Halide makes for a fluffier nug in flower, and HPS will veg a plant, but not as great as a M-H.
You can also use cfl's for veg. They are cheaper, and work for a very long time. But M-H is the way to go for veg.

I respectfully disagree, all i use is hps and that never happens.. The reason people like MH is because it's supposed to make your nodes closer together and the plant won't stretch as much. All my ballasts are switchable and I don't even bother using mh cause the burn hotter and I (myself) don't see much of a difference when using them.. But im only speaking for myself, whatever works best for other people they should go with

This lady was vegged and is flowering in straight HPS

I'm vegging with an HPS as I can't find my MH bulb and there is no comparison - MH vegges much much better. CFLs veg better than MHs in my opinion as well.

Like BL0TT0 stated, total lumen doesn't matter compared to PAR lumen and the MH just has more PAR lumen for a vegetative state.

To the OP, that MH will work but try getting closer to a 6500k versus the 10000k if you can.

Well I already have 2 CFLs in a shelf on a book shelf for clones/seeds, a 250W HPS in one room for vegging and keeping my mother/s, and a 400W HPS in my flowering room.

Just wondering if MH would boost my vegging capabilities.
