Would there be any disadvantage to doing this with mother plants?????

I have 3 mothers under a 250w hps right now theyre all about a month old but growing pretty slow... Would there be any disadvantage to putting my 1000 watter over them till they get bigger then putting them back under the 250watt?

yeah why not ! just remember the 250w doesnt penetrate the foliage as much.

more light = more growth = yeah you get the idea...

Could also supplement the 250watter with hanging CFL's on the sides...or little 24" florescent tube fixtures on the sides

I know the 1000watt will make it grow more and faster but im wondering if it will make it grow too much for the 250watt to handle when i switch back

It could definately cause it to not be able to keep up. But if you have 1000w of light, why not go ahead and use it the whole time? 3 plants with 250 doesn't give them very much to soak in. It'll make the buds nicer too, the more light they get, the nicer and better they'll be.

1000 watt is an hps im using that for flowering though once the moms are ready
