So I live in Laguna Beach. Besides being in SoCal. The city has some pretty lame local restrictions. All grows must be indoors..Well I have a damn nice balcony South facing and plenty of yard room..All with excellent light..Not to mention the roof..I am wondering if I put up a 3x10 green house on the balcony with a padlock. Would that be enough to satisfy the local PD.. Anyone have any experience or thoughts.. It Shure would be nice to bump up the harvest with some free energy efficient grow space..

not sure about Cali but here in CO if you grow in a greenhouse, it ahs to be completely sealed. meaning you can't open a window or roof vents at all. talk about lame huh?

Well indoor is normally inside a building and utilizes artificial lighting methods eg. HPS,LED and MH ect...
So In my view a greenhouse situated outdoors (a typical greenhouse) is not considered indoor.

There are 3 different types ofocommercial grows permits. All seem to do with lighting. Artificial, Natural, and Mixed.. I haven't seen anything about roofs, walls, locks.. Although it's a "Medical" grow and not bound by some of the same stuff. The city rules apply to some extent..I guess I'm going to have to get someone to go to City Hall and ask for me..No way in hell I'm going in there..Small town and such.. I've been gone a decade and would prefer nobody know I'm back..

I imagine it's going to be along the same lines as CO.. If that turns out to be the case. I'm so on this..Why should my OG be deprived it's view of the Ocean? It just on the other side of the wall.

The best people to ask this question to would be your lawyer or your local PD. But since you asked, I believe you'd be OK! Or ask your landlord or Property Manager. Since your balcony is part of your apartment you rent its your property enclosed on 3 sides by your apt. Putting up a greenhouse cover might not be allowed by your PM or may be allowed and if it is allowed, it would constitute a fucking window which would make your balcony officially indoors—so go for it dude!

Another word of warning from your new Slipperyslut friend, is turning your balcony into a greenhouse would open you up to restristrictions from Mother Nature herself. If you’re in Laguna Bitch, in SC the heat build-up is zee main thing so look into the logistics of ventilation and even AC. Too much heat in SC is just as deadly to your plants as growing on zee North Pole with Santa Clause.

It’s like zee problem I was having buying expensive bladed trimming machines. They come with guarantees which are legal protections against shit that don’t work. These fugging garanttees are useless themselves cause all the zee expensive trimmers I bought broke down after the guarantee ran ouT!

Luckily my grower friends turned me on to a NON-bladed DRY auto trimmer, a “Tom’s Tumble Trimmer”. I’ve got 4 now to keep all my grow ops humming! They don’t even have a guarnattee but they’re still going strong after two years! They don’t even need any regular, complicated, expensive maintenance cause they’re simply engineered and have only one moving part! With a name like, Tom’s Tumble Trimmer, you’d think this would be another example of hokey sales shit garbage but it’s the best auto trimmer I’ve ever had...and from now on, I will EVER have!

Of course, if you’re planning on balcony growing you’re a private personal grower and have no need of a trimming machine but when it comes to laws and restrictions and shit, we’re all facing zee same hassle one way or another.

No landlords..It's a house..Average daytime highs well bellow 80 and except for like two to three weeks combined it wont get above 87.. And that usually means a Santa Ana wind from over the desert.. Venting I just imagined two 6 inch fans direct to the outside. And putting the roof on hinges so it could just be tilted all the way open. Then chicken wire. Just to make it look secure.. I have like an 18 foot section that faces south..Have also thought of the roof..The only people who could see that are one set of neighbors..And well I don't care for them..I have all my venting pumping straight in their back yard as it is.. No filters nada.. I don't know there opinion on the herb..So that's been another hair I've had up my yang..

You can grow it, if you can lock it down. You can grow up to six marijuana plants for personal use. The cultivation must be in an environment which is "locked and not visible from a public place."

I take that to mean you can grow it outdoors out of public view and in a locked space, like a fenced in yard with a locked gate. The law says nothing about a greenhouse. I guess we won't know until someone is busted and challenges the law. But I won't hesitate to put a few plants out in my yard.

Six for adult use. 100 square feet of canopy for Medical. Laguna has taken a pretty weird stance though. Specifically banning "OutDoor" cultivation.. But like I said.. Jesus it's a perfect place for OG...Not to mention that vast amounts of un molested canyon space around here..I really should check out some of the Gorrila grow threads..If I could come up with an easy watering method. I could finally make my teenage fantasy's of planting hearb all over like Johnny Appleseed.. I used to put little plants in the mediums and the planter in front if the cop shop...

LOL. I've seen how "ditch weed" grows all over the place in certain fly-over states. Leftovers from the industrial hemp days. It's a weed, after all.

I looked over the local laws for Laguna Beach and it says nothing about banning outdoors for private home gardens for personal use. "Outdoor" cultivation mentioned in other sections of the laws means farms and patient co-op grows on a large property. Cities will have zoning laws and procedures for that. But if they don't spell out the ban of outdoor growing in the growing for personal use section, but do mention it has to be out of public view, then that means you can grow it out of side in a back yard with a locked fence. Set up some privacy screens if you have nosy neighbors.

In my state it would not fly. You need to grow inside your residence, in a locked room. If the greenhouse were attached to the house it would be ok.
