Would 12/12 to 10/14 help?

I've been reading up on this on a few different forums and the answers have been- you'll lessen your yield. However, my plants have reached their peak, but the trichomes will not mature. I'm using Northern Lights. Week 19.
Should I switch to 10/14 to finish them off?

Are you sure they have reached their peak?

Do you mean Week 19 of your whole grow or Week 19 of flowering?

I'd first be looking into why your trichomes aren't forming properly because even a massive yield of weed with no potency is just about as bad as no weed at all.

No! it actually adds days to the grow.Google the 12-1 Grow method.I tried it and it added a month to my grow time.

10/14 might be too drastic but increasing darkness should help ripen them faster. I run 11.5/12.5 the entire bloom phase which helps them finish in 10 weeks or less for mostly all my strains without much detriment to yields. 19 weeks for northern lights seems excessive; did your plant show any hermophrodite flowers? Be sure you don't have any light leaks; 19 weeks must seem like forever

Yeah, there's something wrong there! Something going on!

WTF?

It will shorten finish times! Reducing lights on times (in BLOOM) makes the plant flower FASTER!

I never flower at 12/12! I do 11/13 with 0 yield loss!. Some slow dragging landrace Sativa's will get a 10/14 late to help them finish.

If the trichs are not mature then its not reached its peak.

Some Sativa's trich's never amber up! This is where timing (running a week or 2 longer) and knowing that if it starts to Foxtail - it's done. Of course as long as the trich's have clouded up!

I agree thats why you must know how much time your sativa runs, I know by touch (swell) and then I go a week longer

If it really is northern lights which is an indica btw and that is 19 weeks of 12/12 then yup you have a problem lol. What are you feeding them? And yes try the 11-13 or 10-14 and see what happens. Got pics?

11/13 here,
At this point i would decrease the light 15 mins each day.

( for Indicas not finishing in 8 -9 weeks)

My thoughts on this are that they never will turn amber and if they are more cloudy then clear cut her down.

Learning what causes the gland to turn amber would be worth the study.

What are your off\on temps in flowering space?

Sooo, pretty much what Doc said lol ( pardon my parroting)
