Hey guys ,well shit on a stick ,i have yet another grow facing problems out side of my control.First i had killed some seedling with ultra hot soil. Then i had to rip a plant down because of my stupid landlord wanting to do work on the house. Then i ripped a plant down because i got super paranoid ,now finally i am getting somewhere and am 17 days into flower with a lemon skunk and its starting to shoot pistils out everywhere and yet another goddamn dillemma .Basicaly I am gonna be away for a week or so maybe 10 days .I can get back to water them but it'll be kinda hard.So i was wondering could i replace my hps with a few cfls for a week or so ,so it doesn't dry out as fast? Would my yeild suffer for this do you think?

If you are growing in a small space perhaps you could put one or two "sponge cups", basically put a sponge inside of a party cup or glass, soak the sponge till it can't hold anymore wate rand fill the cup about halfway so the top half of the sponge is exposed to air, that will keep some humidity in there slowing down the time it takes to dry out the soil. If you have a bigger room, try a bucket of water with a washcloth or towel sticking out of it. Water the plants real good before you leave but don't overwater them.

10 days is kind of a long time but some people water they plants NORMALLY every 3-4 days, so although 10 is kind of pushing it, with the right steps it should be fine. What are your current temps? Try getting it around 75-78, that will retain a bit of moisture as well

hey ,cool idea for the humidity ,don't know the exact temp, but it is warm ,not overly so i dont think,The plant is doing real well anyway . SHe needs watered every other day though..i think even watering it every third day would be pushing it.LIke i say ,i can get back up home for a few mins to do the watering , but if i could get her to stop drinking so fast for a week that would be good

Go to a toy store and get some orbeez...then make your nute solution and add the orbeez...then put the orbeez in the soil and go wherever you need...they will water in your absence for quite a little while...lol

some very good advice coming in here. just wanted to address a question that seemed to go overlooked. switching to CFLs for 10 days, your plants would definitely drink less, but probably freak out a bit with the reduced light, and you might notice some strange growth patterns forming over such a long period of time. i would be more worried about how it effected the plant's bud structure more than how much it would limit yield. I don't think it will hurt the yield so much as you can really leave a plant to ripen and get fatter for a week or 2 after ripening to make up for small yields. what you end up with though is a much heavier couchlock stone.

harvesting on time though, you might be looking at a slightly smaller harvest, as the ripening process will not slow down, just the fattening of the bud will

about the Cfl thing, i go between cfl and out doors a lot my self. never done it in flower tho. but just something ad like to bring up.

plants herm cuz of light stress some times . Ex light leaks , inconsistent photo period . wouldn't such drastic spectrum and lumen change count as light stress . ?
