Worried about soil for seedling! PLZ HELP!!

ok so ill give you all the info haha.

im using MG potting mix

im worried that after i watered the soil i poked a little 1 inch hole into the soil and put the seed in it. but when i watered the soil it kinda got packed tighter than before. will that prevent my seed from pushing its root into the soil? or is the root stronger than i think?

help plz?

it should be ok but you should have used some extra perlite with it. Watch your ph with that soil. very unstable man.

yeah ive been checking it. im keeping it at around 6.5 i had a test pot out for a little over a month and i could keep it within 6.5 pH with little or no help. but thanks for the help. i guess ill go buy some perlite!

I used MG organic and still had probs. I mixed it with 1/3 perlite and 1/3 peatmoss and 1/3 soil.....mixed it all together and bam. works but still was unstable. after the nutes in it burn off its pretty ok. be easy on seedlings in it. you wont need any nutes for a few weeks. it holds moisture alot so be easy on watering too. I push my whole finger in it to test it....In a five gal bucket under a 1000, I water once a week..good luck

sweet shit. thanks for the info. i wa wondering about when to use nutes n stuf since it has some time release ones in it. are those the little clear balls?

Yep. The little balls are the timed release nutes. Your seedlings should be fine but I definitely recomend using a seed starting mix. Even the Miracle Gro seed starting mix is pretty good. Best of luck my friend.
