Workshops?

Just wondering if there will be workshops and seminars for us caregivers and patients here in Maine. I think it would be very useful to meet and trade Ideas, experiences, tricks of the trade, product info and comparisons.

I'm not talking a hempfest, party, or anything like that, though some recreation would be nice:-P.

It would be nice to gain some trust among us and attend some meet and greet.

what is wrong with meeting with people with whom you share a passion??? i think any pizza place, coffee shop, or restaurant would welcome such a thing... maybe i am naive...

Some of the Caregiver groups are doing things like this. Networking, swapping medicine, and even grow room consultations and setup. I think it would be great for people, who aren't part of a group or caregiver trade union, to be able to get together and talk shop. I'm not a caregiver, but I am a patient and proud grower with an unquenchable thirst for more knowledge on the subject.

I am a caregiver, my wife is a patient. I would like more info on these groups in hope of joining one or perhaps some...

LOL,maybe a little sarcastic?

Maybe rent a hall, a private residence, someplace relatively private anyways, this is still taboo in many minds.

Try Compassionate caregivers of maine http://mainemedmarijuana.com
I think they charge you a monthly fee for each patient they connect you with. I think it's between $25 and $50, I don't remember. This would be a way to join a network and get you your 5 patients a little quicker if you can get over the fee.

No, i'm not very interested in more patients to pick up. Just to get together and share ideas and such. Like for instance, I,personaly, don't know how to make hash, let alone quality hash, and what should be done with leftover stems, leaves? Throw them in the stove? How can we obtain different strains by seed or clone. Hey i'm no expert and any new info would be great and having someone show how to properly arrange things would be great.

i'd be happy to help with a lot of that stuff... i've been making hash for quite some time now, and edibles as well... if more folks are interested (and have cards) a hash / edible workshop would be super fun... plus taking some home would be nice as well... get folks with some sugar leaf and the time, it would be super fun, and a great way for people to learn... let me know if you get something together...

Yes,yes!! Cards should be mandatory for registration. Edibles, hash, growing techniques, all that. This thread needs more attention though.

I agree with you. I thought the patient fee made it kinda sleezy too. Most of these organizations and groups will probably charge some sort of fee or dues every month.......other then that, you could always start a local forum on a grow website and try to get the "outsiders" together....lol

I've never made hash either. I made butter, for the first time, last month out of some pretty stoney indica. I found it to be really racy even though the bud wasn't. Does cooking it remove some of the CBD while keeping the THC? I'm an epileptic and need stoney rather than up and go. I couldn't even sleep that night. I'm strain hunting right now hoping to find that perfect seizure killer strain. Do you find that if a strain is energetic or more on the stoney side that those traits carry over to the edibles and hash you make from it?

See there, thats a reason for a workshop.

Location is important. Now that winter is here, it should be held inside. Plus a general location to meet would be good. Some folks may have quite a distance to drive.

this thread seems to have been in the freezer...... has anyone come up with an interesting idea for a maine style meeting? I get alot of info in books and online, though I would like to see a net of folks willing to trade seeds or clones.( less the powder mold, and bugs).. maybe knowlege and even some ideas. If any of you are interested, let it be known.
