It seems ok.
I was really pissed when XP came out.
Seemed like they changed everything.
I guess you get used to it though.
It seems kinda like computers for dummies to me though.

I have heard very bad things. My friend is a computer tech. He just stopped taking my clients unless they are mac users. Thanks to Vista.

Yeah there are limitations for repair I would imagine.
Also not everything is vista compatible yet.
For instance I had to use Norton antivirus since Charter's (my cable co) not vista capable for virus protection..

If I am not mistaken Vista came out in January 07'.

Hey abudsmoker. My computer came with Vista. Mine has 512 ram..
I was looking to add a gig or more.
That is one hell of a deal.
Last time I priced them it was 80.00 for 512 and like 160 for a gig.

My father just got a new comp a few weeks ago and his came with 1024 and is expandble up to like 4 gig.
I think mine will too.
That would be super dooper fast especially with my 5 mega bit per second cable hookup.

So Fdd, did you buy Vista on a whim? Bit expensive to do that isn't it? I've heard bad things, had a play with it, wasn't impressed - It's all show. Plus it's RAM hungry as fuck. I'd say to run it nicely you want 2GB minimum, which is more than your average XP user would ever want. I'm sticking with XP for the moment, just looking forward to when macs have good GPUs...

I bought new computer at christmas and upgraded to vista at february. I don't want to go back to xp because it'll look so cheap now. Vista is pretty nice on design, got a few bugs but hell with them. They'll make some service pack soon which hopefully fix some stuff. I always get some COM Surrogate error when I'm watching *.avi files, don't know why but I just minimize it and everything's cool.
Year from now and most of ppl will have Vista, just like it was with XP.

I have 2GB's of RAM, AMD 3800+ with ATI X1650Pro. Must replace videocard soon.

Microsoft pretty much copied design from MAC OSX but hey, who gives a bloody crap because apple owns at design.

Vista sucks.!!!

Just the other day one of the leading manufactures... DELL when bk to selling Xp due to all the problems people are having vista.

You can bet bill gates didnt like that, DELL are the first but im sure wont be the last company to turn there backs on vista it has been hyped up so much yet is such a let down.

Almost everything you can do on vista you can do on Xp with the right applications of course, with out any of the worry of programs not working or not being compatible
