so i have 2 plants and i changed them from veging under a t5 to a hps 400w and the first day i changed em they wilted i added water and they were happy but now water isnt even helping... i also got a fan blowing on them to help with the heat any ideas what i could do?

I'd move your lights away and move them closer each day. Hps is way hotter than t5 and they probably didn't like the difference.

What is the temperature at the top of the plant? How close Is the light to the plant? Too much water can cause wilting! Is changing the light the only thing you did? Is the fan blowing on them constant or is it oscillating! Is the fan just making them sway a little or is it blowing them like a crack whore??

they get about 85 degrees in there and theyre about 2 feet away from the lamp i just wanted to be safe cause i noticed how much hotter it was. they were just swaying but i got scared and blew the air directly thinking they needed to cool down more...

ive also turned off my lamp hoping that they can get a break from the heat and recover before i do anything else that might hurt them

does change in water have to do with anything? i kno ph is a big factor when it comes to water but all ive given my plant is purified water and and as i ran out in a desperation act i used tap water, might that have done some damage?

From what you have said, it seems that the first wilting was simply that they needed water! You said you added water and they bounced back! 85 is not good but I would not think that would cause the whole plant to wilt! Unless your tap water is poison, and I take it that you drink it and bath in it, I doubt that is the problem! The second wilting could be too much water?? The fan directly on them and blowing hard could be the problem too? Can you post pictures? I grow in Aero, so not sure I can diagnose your problem:(

Having said that, you need to read, read, read, read, and when you are done reading, you need to read some more!! I'm not busting your balls like some do but, there is a lot of basic information you need to learn! Go to the Newbie Central and read all the stickies that seem to apply! That's a good start! Like I said, I'm not busting your balls and continue to ask questions! I and others will try to help as much as we can!
