Will white oil kill my plants?? thought it was neem oil...

White oil WILL kill bugs on your plants by suffocating them. It should not harm your plants.

Yes, but I would still use the neem oil.

White oil coats the bugs, blocks pores, and prevents them from breathing, essentially.
Neem oil can perform in the same way, but has the added advantage of smelling foul to pests. It will keep them away from the plants, as opposed to killing them.

This ends up saving you a step!

If possible I would attempt to wash off the white oil, even spraying with water will help get rid of it.

White oil is generally a vegetable oil or a light mineral oil in suspension in water and works by blocking the bug's pores as dysel stated.

White oil is great when used outdoors as the natural elements (rain, wind, sun) break down and remove the oil, but if your grow is an indoor grow then the oil could very well remain on (or in) your buds.

It may not kill you, but it could screw up the taste of your smoke - inhaling burnt oil can't be good for your lungs either.
