Alright guys ive been having some heat issues in my tent and last time round my buds came out rather fluffy and i dont want the same to happen this time. The temps are around 84F at the hottest time of the day and i know that isnt really all that bad but i would still like to bring them down another couple degrees.

I dont have to money to be buying a bigger fan or cool tube at the moment but i did have an idea and id like to know if yall think it could work?

I have some spare ducting lying around and i was thinking of attacthing this onto my extractor fan which is positioned in the top corner of my tent and positioning it so that it is sucking the hot air away from around the bulb and out the tent, do you think this will have a noticable affect?

please feel free to shoot this idea down if it will be a waste of my time, thanks guys

It will drop it a little for sure, I dont vent my 1k but I have a fan mounted that blows right on the fixture. The real test will be to try it out. But any air flow will drop the temp a little for sure and it looks like you only need a small drop to be ok.

It will help. I run a series of huts on flipboxes. I setup my huts with a blower on the top extracting humidity and heat plus I run a blower just for my lights. I have a 6" vortex sucking thru a carbon filter then the ducting runs into the first hut, to the light, out the hut, into next hut, to the light, out the hut... Moving the heat away from the bulb will help trumendously.

Carbon Filter(Mainly to keep dirt and debris from blowing over my lights and also cleaning the air in my room), Blower, Ducting->Into first hut-Into air cooled light reflector-Exiting hut->
into hut number 2-into air cooled light reflector-Exit Hut #2-> Ducted into another room thru ceiling hole...

Moving that air away from your bulb will help keep the hut cool AND keeps the air fresher overall.
I am very experienced with huts so if you need help message me! Or find me on Facebook... https://www.facebook.com/IrieGeneticsColorado?ref=tn_tnmn

Another thing I do, I am home for work all day, I went down to grocery store and got some ice packs that are sealed you put in freezer, they take forever to thaw. I put that behind the fan that blows right on the light fixture and when we have 100 plus days it helps cool it down a little. You have to change them out if real hot but adds to the cooler air and for me it is just a worse case thing. I dont use them every day.
