Will These Bulbs Work???

Hello,

I'm about to order 4 of these bulbs and I wanted to make sure they were the correct type for growing. They will be going in a grow box that I built specifically for vegging but I wanted to know if they would work for flowering also. The bulbs are cfl's and they are 105watts each, they are 5000k (full spectrum). I'm attaching a link so you can see exactly what I'm talking about. Thanks for any help...

well, they will work for flowering but an HPS light would work better. Lots of people veg with what you've got, but then switch for flowering to something that emits a warmer, redder spectrum. Read everything here: GROWFAQ and good luck.:blsmoke:

im growing with one of them Check it out https://www.rollitup.org/cfl-growing/60035-cfl-kc-33-beginning-end-2.html im growing a lowryder 2 and Kc33
I'm sure you'll get something out of it, but you might want to consider using more than just 1 cfl bulb from start to finish. I'm using 4 of the 105watt bulbs, but that's just for vegging. I'm using a 400watt HPS for flowering. This post was just to find out if these bulbs would work if I decided to use my vegg box for flowering.

im using 1 of them eco lights for veg coz thats all you need and then im going to add a few cfls for flowering plus scrog should work out good

I am no expert, but I got these from that site.

Compact Fluorescent - 30 Watt - Full Spectrum 6400K - Energy Miser FE-IIS-30W-64 Light Bulb

I realize you would have to buy three of these bulbs to get the same lumen output. But they are 6400k and i found a coupon online and got them at like $2.90 each. So for the same price as 4 of those large ones you could have 40 of these and be putting out 80k lumens. Bt then, not sure what you are looking at space wise.

For that price you can purchase a 400 watt . HPS w/ reflectors.
The shipping and handling is an additional 30bux though but who cares.
The total price for a 400watt. HPS with ballast and Reflectors (everything you need) including shipping and handling will be around 150.00-170.00
Which isnt much more than you will be paying for the CFL's you are about to purchase..If you have already purchased. Than cancel your order, and i will give you links to some website's.
Cheers!

I heartily endorse this!!!

This bulb will work but it requires a mogul socket (not a standard household socket), so you would have to supply that as well to use it. Probably better to stick with the lower wattage CFLs that fit regular sockets.

With that would it rival an HPS? Or is it still falling short? CFL's are cooler and can be place closer to the plant and are more energy efficient, so I'm also curious about using a really high powered CFL for flowering...a 200W CFL is suppose to be equivelent to a 600W HPS...is it true?
