Will the next president actually pardon Donald Trump?

Do you think Donald Trump will get a pardon?

  • Definitely, even if the next president is a democrat!

  • No, he will be hounded by authorities for the rest of his life.

Or will Donald face criminal indictment on multiple charges of felony obstruction of justice?

I'm on the fence about this one and would like to hear arguments on both sides. It does seem like Trump will have legal trouble for the rest of his life if he's not pardoned. Can he even pardon himself?

He can't pardon himself because he can't be charged, much less convicted while serving as President.

Personally, I think he shouldn't be pardoned by the newly sworn in President Biden. I think Trump has done so much harm to the institution of President by blatantly committing crimes in full view, probably the tip of the iceberg, that a clear precedent should be made of him.

Interesting argument. I'm still on the fence on this one and have not yet made up my mind. I'd like to hear logical arguments on both sides.

I don't believe he can pardon himself or so says the expert legal consensus I've seen on TV, he can pardon everybody but himself. If Donald could get a blanket pardon from Pence, he would have it, and would have resigned long ago. The presidency is too much work for Donald, even though he does practically nothing, it's been one long miserable struggle for survival. If they pardoned Donald, they would have no idea what they were pardoning him for, behaps treason and Christ knows what else, it would have to be a blanket pardon. Joe or any other democratic president would never pardon Donald, he was never a real president, just a lifetime criminal who cheated his way into office by committing treason.

He might pardon every felon in America and empty the prisons, after he loses in November, just for shits and giggles and as a distraction from his own woes. WTF do you think the media is gonna be full of when Donald loses the election? There will be endless speculation on TV about Donald's crimes and what will happen to him etc, it will drive him mad. Legal trouble for Donald won't take long in coming after jan 20th, it will be the new AG's top priority. No pardon for Donald, Pence won't do it and if he won't, nobody will, he would be left holding the bag while Donald danced away free.

When you ride the tiger you dare not fall off, lest the beast consume you. Donald is riding the tiger and headed for a fall in the fall.

Joe will give him a pat on the ass and drop federal charges. Joe's job now is healing. So it will have to be up to one of the states to prosecute. NY will probably bring the first set of charges then it will be open season on anus. He'll walk on income tax issues since the scotus will try to hide them. I could be wrong, usually am.

Well Abandon, the logic and reason are to be found in the legal community, as facts and data are found in the scientific community. There is going to be strong emotional and political factors built into this question as well as logical ones. It's basically a problem of predicting which way the snake will squirm to try and get out of the trap, so if ya want to look at it logically let's look at the options he has available

1) WORST CASE: He wins the election, game over.

2) PARDON: he pardons Pence and resigns, then Pence blanket pardons him.

3 DEATH: Donald dies or is otherwise incapacitated (a real possibility)

4) RUNS: After losing the election Donald runs to Vlad on AF1 claiming a "deep state" coup etc

5) DEM PARDON: Joe Biden pardons him (I will take modest bets of honor on this one, not happening), there would be snowball fights in Hell first.

5) SELF PARDON: Believing (hoping) he is omnipotent, he attempts to pardon himself (good luck with that)

best for last

6) JUSTICE: He is indicted and appears before a judge within a week and is muzzled a by court order within another (like Roger), then he will end up in jail for repeatedly defying it. During his trial they will have to tie him to the chair and ball gag him with his eyeballs bugged out.

I think he needs to go to court, he needs to have 12 Americans sit in judgement of him while prosecutors drag everything he has done over the last 10 years out into the public eye so everyone understands why things are the way they are at the moment.

He can't pardon himself because he can't be charged, much less convicted while serving as President.

This seems obvious. Not sure why anyone thinks he would pardon himself, if there's nothing to pardon until after he's left office.
