Will suddenly using large amounts of electric raise any eyebrows?

Alright i'm not growing that much but i'd just like to get some perspective on the subject; does suddenly exponentially increasing your electric use ever cause suspition? I'm only going to be running a 400 and 600 watt hps and 2 inline fans, a 4" and 6". my bill used to be about 60 a month. i'm expecting it to be around 190-200 once its running. when i ran the 400 alone it added 50 a month to my bill.... so i guess i assume a 600 watt will be aro0und 65 a month for 18/6, and the fans running will be like another 30~ bucks. totals around 195. is this even anything to worry about, or am i just being paranoid? sorry if i come off as a total noob

That is not considered a large amount of electric. And no, it wont attract any attention.

It's not so much your amount of usage that could look strange. There are many reasons for a persons power bill to go up. Air conditioner, big fish tank, ect. What is tell tale about it is that your usage goes up at the same time every day, and lowers at the same time every day. Even that isn't conclusive, since all it really indicates is that your probably using a light on a timer. You could be growing tomatoes. Realistically it's not likely that someone will be examining your usage that closely.

I have received two letters informing me that I use 90% more energy than my neighbors. (I only use a 600wt hps) It made me a little nervous but after reading through RUI the general feeling seems to be, as long as you pay your bill you'll be ok. The only time the electric company really gets involved is when the energy is being stolen.

the electricity bill won't get you caught, its the loose lips and the stench of fine greenery that will.

They wont KNOW or CARE all it means is a possible bonus for them. In cali you hear about houses getting raided with over 1500 plants. thats like EVERY room a GROW ROOM on a 2 story house. and the ELEC. diddnt do it, it was the Neighbors snitching after noticing Different people Tend to the house every few months.. like WTF? did they sell the house again? Too big a OP for 1 man too run.

Totally paranoid. No one cares if you are using an extra 1000 watts. Especially the power company; they like it. As long as you pay for it they don't care. Also they are not in cahoots with the police. The police don't get to just read everyones electrical bill. They never see it. There are a million reasons you could be using that energy.

Thats a fucking low electric bill.

Marijuana Smell, Condensation on the windows, Ice at the vents & no snow on the roof. If you are gonna fill your house with plants you are risking detection.
