Will starting seedlin under 12/12 hermie if changing light cycle to 18/6?

Okay everyone title says it all. I don't have a veg tent yet and I want a perpetual garden. Can I plant fem seeds under 12/12 for 1-2 weeks then change the light cycle to 18/6 without
hermie? I usually veg 5-8 weeks depending on training done. So can anyone who's ever done this have any advice? Ps. I have a few reg seeds but were wanting to hold off for a bit until I get a stronger light.

I know a few people who start normal seeds (non fem) under 12/12 wait 2 weeks to see sex and then change back to veg.
They do this to save them 1-2 months of veg and wasting that time on males.

Take it from someone who put together a perpetual grow that harvests 2 plants a week -- you need at least 2 rooms to do a perpetual. I currently have 12 plants flowering in one room and another 13 vegging in a closet. By staggering the times you can harvest so many plants a week/month. Think about it - if I harvest 2 plants I now have 2 holes in my flowering room. I better have 2 veggers ready to flower, eh? Perpetual grow is all about timing and using strains you know. 85% of my finishing plants start as clones I generate myself. So you need a strong cloning operation (or a ton of $ for beans) to keep a PG going. Don't try it on the cheap or you will end up kicking yourself. Get the supplies you will need for 2 rooms with bulbs and learn from there. Good luck, BigSteve.

do not mess with the early veggie cycle

if u plant a photo seed that comes out and it is on a 12 to 12 it will think it is late in the season and it does not have time for a full growth cycle so what it does will not be as well if u start it and runn it on a 18/6
(if u do it then when u finish i am betting the over all yeild will be smaller and the roots will be much smaller and closer to the surface) thinking is the plant will start grow quick so the roots do not have time to go deep and branch like does in veggie with 18/6 and this will effect the yeild since the goodies are not being aborbed as well

Big Steve. That is where I'm aiming for now is to get my veg expansion for 2014 tax return. And so you think bad idea starting in 12/12? If I can I just want to get them initially started. Like a week under 12/12 then switch to 18/6 cause until I can get the money for the new veg tent I'm stuck trying to start seeds either after harvest or my current question startin them about a week before harvest just to get them going. I haven't tried any cloning yet but that is what I would love to do once the veg tent is on order cause I've got a whole pack of sin mint cookies I'm waiting for my new light for.

So it only takes around 14 days to show sex If the seedlings start under 12/12? And I may try this with some dank bagseeds I got so I don't waste any sin mint cookies which is what I'm gonna run once I get my new light.

Well I've got an autoflower I can start under 12/12 and when I harvest the others I can change it back to 18/6 to start my other seedlings while the auto is flowering out
