Will it melt/blow up?

When switching out my MH bulb to an HPS, I used a microfiber towel to grab the bulb and twist it out. I guess I didn't know the bulb was that hot (thought I let it cool down enough), and it seems like there are little fuzzy parts of the towel that is now stuck to the bulb. Is this fine to run? Is it going to just melt the fuzz right off? Or is it going to explode? Crack? Burn? It's not a lot, but it's there. Help please..

Cool. Hah I wish it was that easy to wipe them off Krypt.. I wouldn't be posting here. It melted onto it. But great, as long it doesn't explode

I'd try to remove it before plugging it back in, no sense in risking ruining the bulb if you can avoid it. Maybe some glass cleaner? Or you could try using a razor blade... depending on the shape of your bulb.

If its really only a tiny bit I'm sure its nothing to worry about, but better safe than sorry.

You could use a razor blade to carefully remove the debris and follow that with a clean cotton towel.. I highly recommend doing it before you reignite that lamp.

rofl. me too lol. i turned on my new 150 hps and was so impressed with my wiring i forgot i had it sitting on carpet. I walked outa the room to get a screw came back and smoke everywhere. Ow. It was a bathmat thank god but the bulb covered in rubber bathmat. I figure i sand a little off then turn it on, u know give it somke time to burn the rest off. Then, i puked, it;s only a 150 watt, THAT'S LIKE FIFTEEN BUCKS, LOL. So better safe than sorry, i just goona buy a t5 fro the veg room. rofl
