Will a 400cfm inline fan push air 20 feet through 6"ducting

I need to cool down my basement and am thinking of running 15 feet of ducting to the drier vent and the drier vent is 5 foot to outside (20 feet total)... Will a 400cfm inline fan be able to do push this air 20 feet total??

Yes,keep in mind every 90= about 5' of straight pipe.So now 20' of pipe with 3 90's is 35' ish.So limit the turns or use chunks of stretched hose to make longer corners.

Yeah gonna run the 6" ducting to my 4" drier vent, don't think it should be a problem... What's the farthest I could run this venting with a 400CFM inline fan??

you should choose your fan based on the size of the area you are trying to keep cool not on its ability to push air through ducting.

After looking at my dryer vent how do these keep all the cold air out in the winter??

Back draft damper

Just wondering if exhausting to outdoors should this be included in the venting system in case of power failure during cold months.

I've had this one for 30+ years. It pops up an opens when any air is blow through. Seals good but you better have a good fan. And it needs painted or at least the ones from 30 years ago do.

Does your vent cover outside not have flaps or something like this?

I went from a 4" 33cfm inline fan to a 4" 195 cfm in line fan. Cut fan on time in a 24hr period from 16 hours to 3.5 hrs. Needs a muffler and I had to put the dampener on or it never got to the 84F setpoint due to convection.
