will 2 600 watters be overkill in my tent?

i currently have a lumatek dimmiable 600 watt with a sunpulse 6.4k and a dr120 tent its 4x4x6.5.Its my first grow planning on 8 3-4 foot indica plants and i was wondering if it would be a overkill to stick in another 600 sunpulse 3k spectrum in a growzilla dual bulb reflector.I realize its probly more than i need but that leaves room for expansion mabe to a 5x5 or 6x6 down the road and i can always dim the ballast. Any one done 1200 wats in a small space?is it overkill or should i just stick with the single 600w and mabey some supplemental cfls?Plz help dont mind spending on another light if the plants will be able to use the light.

FYI if you're planing on growing 3-4 foot plants you should use 200w of light per plant. Otherwise you'll end up with a fuck ton of pop corn buds. This happens due to poor light penetration. If you stick with 200 watts of light per plant you'll end up with a similar yield as 8 plants. You may have a slightly lower overall yield but you'll have a way higher percentage of dank weed vs. pop corn nugs. Also if you have poor light penetration the tops of your plants may finish on time but the lower branch will need a few more weeks to finish.

(1) 600 watter=3-4 plants max *unless you don't care about pop corn nugs and want a slightly higher yield.

I also don't know how you can fit 2 600 watters in a 4x4 area. Most hoods that are made for 600-1000w bulbs are at least 2.5 to 3 feet long. I guess you could fit 2 in that size area if you're using cool tubes. For sure though you'll have to air cool bulbs in that small of an area.

I tried 2 - 600s in air cooled hoods in my 3.5x4. Too much. I got the temps to stay down, but in the end, it didnt make much sense to keep it that way. you're at over 100W/sqft. You're wasting allot of light. A 600 is perfect for that space. And i can tell you that if you're growing indicas, and you want them 3-4; tall, there is no way 8 are fitting in a 3x3 space. You'd be lucky to get 4 in there. I veg my plants to about 3' tall of so. My Sativas flower in the mid 4' range, and take up about 18"x18". My Indicas are about 2'x2' each. 4 would be crammed, 8 would be impossible in a 3x3. You're either gonna have to veg less or cut your plant count down. My opinion anyway.

ronjohn i was thinking that ur right with the pants mabey ill only let them get to 2.5 feet tall or so or only grow 6 3-4 footers. As per fitting in 2 600s in the tent the growzilla is a standard air cooled reflector same as i have now(21X21 inches ) but instead of one bulb in the middle there is a bulb on each end using two bulbs with one reflector no extra space is needed for the extra light. alot of people do 1000 watts in a tent that size with 6-8 plants just want to know if its worth it to go and get another 600 watter 3k for the added potentcy and yeild or if its to much for the 4x4 tent.

It's kind of dangerous to shove 2 bulbs in 1 hood. They really aren't made of that kind of usage. Remember a 600w light gets really hot. You don't want to cause any fires.

As I said 200w per plant will yield to some amazing results. Also if you shove too many plant in a small 4x4 area you'll fuck up your air circulation and that for sure will lower your yields. In your tent I'd just use 1 600w bulb and grow 3-4 plants. You'll still end up with close to 300 grams dried. Thats a fuck load of weed. I also don't know how you'd fit more than 3-4 plants in a 4x4 space (unless you're growing really small plants). Full sized plants in the 3-4 feet range have large roots and will need large pots to grow in (regardless if you grow soil or hydro). The more root space you have the healthier your plants will be.

any more input one guy says go with 2 600 watters another says stick with one any more suggestions? will the extra wattage yield a significant amount more for the power consumed or am i just wasting the light and lookink for problems with temps.Ive read of people with 1k watters in a space that size with excellent results and i could always dim the balllast to 360 or 400 watts if need be.

more light equals more bud sounds right but is there such a thing as exsessive or wasted light.I really like the idea of having two bulbs operating at the same time with diffrent spectrums(both sunpulse 6.4k and 3k)but fear its a waste of light with a 4x4 space.also would temps be a problem? ambients about 75 degrees venting lights with a vortex 6" 360 sum odd cfm's

There is no limit to how much light your plants can use. More light is generally better. The more light the more bud you'll get. However the more light you have the larger plant you'll get too. You need to take space into consideration, air flow, and the possible effects of having too large or too many plants in one location (i.e. pests, molds, disease). In a tent I could see you having spacing issues (i.e. plants growing out too wide or too tall).

But like I said a 4x4 space IN A TENT is mostly for 1 1000w bulb or 1 600w bulb. You shouldn't be stuffing 2 bulbs in 1 hood. It's potentially dangerous. Also too many lights in tent may cause issues with heat. If you had a bit more space to deal with then I'd say use 2 lights. Your spacing is very limited.

you posted twice about this and il stick with what i said in the other post look into a hortalux super blue 600hps and a 400mh both sectrums you want and
its a badass bulb one vented shield easyer to cool
