Wierd light shade question.

Lets say I had a 40w MH light with the regular seen everywhere light shades. Now lets say I paint it flat white? Eh......Huh...Maybe im just high but maybe im thinking if it aint white it aint right?

Ok, insted of bling tastic light shade what if I painted it flat white? I dont see anything wrong with it but I kinda like the fact of everything white in the room and black floors....Call me crazy but maybe even low temp in there sence its a tight space sence white doesnt get as hot. I duno opinions on flat white sun shades is what I want.

well if "blingtastic" translates to a 95% reflective pebbled aluminum surface leave it the hell alone, if its a piece of old sheet metal or some diy reflector you cooked up by all means paint it FLAT white, but i hear ya need to use a high temp paint if it's close to the bulb. Good Luck

im sure if your buying the setup the reflector is fine why paint it?

white always helps, may be unnecessary but it wont hurt.

wouldnt the reflector or whatever become too hot because i know mine does

Well i think it could hurt, if you take a 95% reflective aluminum reflector and paint it 90% reflective white you lose 5%of your light, OUCH
