Wierd incident. Need help. Flowering Day 21 (PICS)

Hey Guys,

I need your help, and rather fast. I will make this short as possible. Below I have attached pictures. I'm on day 21 of flowering.

The top buds of my plant have been within an inch of my T5s with no problems. I noticed last night that the new "hairs" were getting burnt. I cannot raise my lights any higher so I HAD to tie the plant down. I just tied it about 30 minutes ago. I have never done this and I have a question for those who can answer it.

Can she take this much bending? (Pics included below) Will it stress her out????

Also even worse I had a freak incident.

I noticed yellow powder on a fan leaf, when I searched above it I found what appeared to be one single shrivled little male flower. I immediatly cut it out and trashed it. I am in day 21 of flowering. My buds are pretty thick and more importantly NO SIGNS OF HERMIE!

How could this have happend? Can a plant self pollinate?

Please help me out guys as I take your advice seriously. Should I not tie down at this point in flowering? Did I tie it down too far? WTF is a male flower doing here after all this time??????

you sure that the hairs were burnt, or were they changing color? 21 days of flowering sounds like too short of time for hairs to be changing amber/red but who knows?

Tieing down should be ok as long as you do not snap the stem, no snappy sound when you did it = you're ok... i think lol

Does anyone else have any advice???

To be honost I'm worried about the extent of which I tied it down, and the pollen.

your girl will be fine.No snappy, no problem. You can end up with one male flower on an otherwise female plant. Its happens. My white widow had 1 seed in the whole plant. Nobody smoked it but me, and only one seed. weird huh?

You have a hermie plant. Your weed will be full of seeds. Ya want to spray the plants with water to rinse off any pollen. I would bend it towards the light. I would move the plant on the opposite side of the light and bend her towards the light.

For my sake I hope you are wrong. I just would be shocked if its a chick with a dick. Shes been on the 12/12 cycle now for 34 days, flowering for 21. This is the FIRST sign of male parts. It was at the very bottom also.

As for the lighting. I can see what you mean. I didn't think of that, I will move it when I get home.

Uhhh, those lights look more like CFL's instead of T5's. Is there also a lighting system on top of your plants? If not, then I'd untie the plant, move it two or three inches from the side lights, and just rotate the plant a quarter turn every day

Also, I wouldnt bend your plant from the bottom, but just a little ways from the tip. If necessary, stake the main stalk straight....B

i don't see any thing that makes it look like a hermie. If your fan doesn't oscillate it may give the hairs wind burn. Idk it looks fine to me.

Its this simple. If ya had a male flower on a other wise feamale plant its a hermie.

yeah who cares if it was only one male part on the bootom, its hermie i also had ONe male part, cut it with no prob.

one thing is for sure though.. get more lights on it. those 3 cfl's on the side aren't enough to help it produce quality bud.

As for the lighting I know the pic makes it look weak (and it is compared to HID setups), but this is what I have.

1) On top I have two 6500k T5 HO 24" tubes.
Also on top I have two "full spectrum" 17w 24" tubes.

2) The side has 3 6500k 26w CFLs.

I know I need more light.... Its just with the lights I have now my box can reach 98 degrees and I have fans. Admittedly I have no exhaust and intake though.

I have another problem, I have never noticed this with my outdoor grows. My pistils are getting really thin and curly, some are turning brown. The actual part the protrude from is fine. My humidity is at a constant 44% and there are no signs of mold.

Is this heat stress?? Wind burn like a previous reply mentioned? nute burn? or normal???

So just as a quick recap here,

The bending is okay.

And my bud will have seeds.

Will it be alot of seeds? Or like when you buy regs how theres quite a few but still enough bud to smoke?

34 days, flowering for 21? why so slow? just wondering? Mines came out within a couple of days. Other then that I had the similar incident where my tops where getting burnt. So just the tips of some hairs are turning color. Not the rest of the hairs so I lowered her. But I can't get her any further away from the light. Good luck

It took a full twelve days for me to recognise the female. The male I was able to identify in 4 days. So, I am counting Days since seed planted/Days on 12-12/ And Days since first sign of flowering. Thats the reason for the confusion.
