I like that the light is natural with them (the ones with the white and red diodes anyway... af-600) it's not all purple when you try to look at your plants, it's just like normal bright sunny day. I think they are going to come out with smaller units too and improved version in 2013 (hopefully I won't have to upgrade until 2023! haha I am not much of a techno-gadget person...) I would wait for the new generation (I am just talking to everyone, I know it wont be for a while for you...)
I said this before, my goal is not to get the highest gpw, I just want to grow very high quality dense frosty buds ... with the odd one the size of my fist! But if you are trying to get a happy balance of low power usage and quality of flowers, I definitely think LEDs users are better served with many smaller units as opposed to a few big ones.
