Why Is My Post Altered?

Hi, it happened to me today that expression "little girl" in my post was without my knowledge posted in red and I got into some heated discussion because of that. Is that normal and if so , why is that? Thanks.

I am having some issues myself... is it normal for mods to just delete posts or change them without notice?

I can imagine we all can't agree on the same things but it seems like if the mods can delete or alter posts then none of us have any freedom here.

Hey GreenLight you can tell if someone edits your posts as they have a little "last edited by" at the bottom. I just checked all your posts and the only ones that were edited were last edited by you. I am not a mod or anything only trying to help, what issues have you had?

Here I just edited this post so can see the tag.

if "little girl" is highlighted, it probably means you have the words "little" and "girl" tagged; check the bottom of your thread, or the thread you posted in, and see if this is the case.

mods can moderate this forum at their discretion. that's what a moderator does; moderate

The editing posts is for the other guy.

I have mysteriously found that 2 of my posts were deleted. One on my own thread and one on Trenton's thread.

I really like it here and I just find it kind of creepy that people seem to be having problems with mods changing things at will. (as I've read in other threads)

I know there are issues with bad posts on any forum, but I would just hope that mods will take the time to let us know what is wrong with a posts when it is deleted.

Also I've waited for 2 days for a DIY carbon scrubber post to get approved on the DIY section. Now I'm starting to think maybe they just denied that too? I dunno maybe I just haven't gotten enough sleep to understand how this all works.

I've been away from the forum game for a while... I'll bounce back.

i highlighted it. i felt it was derogatory. i was trying to warn you without causing any problems.

as mods we are given powers to edit and delete as we see fit. that's what makes us mods. i'd say we are pretty laid back here. i have heard several complaints about these things lately. i do my best to notify someone if a post is an issue. this is a growing site. anything not grow related that is posted in the grow sections could/should be deleted but it usually isn't.

I don't know anything about the other guys issue. since it was a while back I imagine he made peace with it.

As for me I made a post to trenton about dipping his plants to get rid of mites. the post was up for an hour or 2 and then disappeared.

Since it was short I can't see how I would have written anything to offend anyone or break any rules.

that i don't know about. sounds like fair advice. i'd suggest the same thing if the pots weren't so big. i see your concern. i too would ask for an answer.

i just found it. for some reason it was "moderated". i don't now why. often when new members post links they get moderated. this is to prevent spam. i saw nothing in your post that would cause this. the only link i saw was in your sig. i approved the post so it is there now.

Well its all not that big of a deal, I just don't want to sign on one day and find one of my threads deleted... I would be sad... oh so very sad

Since when is a little girl derogatory?
so this was meant as a warning?
Well... at least you didn't censure it...
LOL. I have been warned. I'm a bad boy now.

Thanks for your answer anyway.
