Why do my seeds have holes?

I have two seeds germinating and they both have a tiny hole on one side. What is this? Here's a pic.

Yeah, I was trying. I'm using my cellphone camera. I'll get a magnifying glass. It doesn't really look like a critter did that. I'm not sure. Hold on, I'll post the pic up in a second.
