why arte my OG's so tall and skinny

i am growing OG i started from clones purchased at a dispensary. this is my second OG grow. the last yielded some outstandingly dense small resinous buds but the yield was small. it seems no matter how i prune them or how early i top them or how close i put the light, they are the tallest skinniest plants i ever saw. tons of space between the internodes and few leaves. unless i'm mistaken i might get better yields if i could get them bushier but have had no luck. is this just how the strain grows? my other starins are all bushy but the og grows like its reaching for the light...which its not. thoughts????

What temperature kelvin is your light for both veg and flower? (hps/mh/hof)

og kush is not a very heavy yielding plant some plants are just like that. I grew diesel for a number of years and it was the same way. Some of the best connoisseur buds are just that way I think because the breeders are more worried about keeping the flavor intact then they are about it producing more.
