Why Aerogarden Pro/Delux and not Classic?

If I'm a complete retard, please just let me know, lol.

My question is, why would I buy an AG Pro/Delux if I'm just gonna remove the light anyway? Why not save $100 and get the classic? Other than the Extendo-Light, lol, is there any difference? I don't need the fancy lighting timers and advanced growth intelligence if I'm using a timer, my own lights, and my own nutes, right? Please, correct me if I'm wrong.

I'm buying my AG tomorrow and I just waqnna know if I'm being an idiot or making a smart move.

I got the classic, it works like a charm, got 3 giant plants in there right now. Had to remove lid though getting 150 watt hps, should be alright.

i use the AG 6. Same thing as the Classic just 6 pods instead of 7. I was gunna just remove the hood and put it on its own yoyo's and timer anyways so i thought exactly like you are and went with the basic model without the 100$ plastic armor that goes a foot higher

Yeah, I was gonna go Classic, but after some thought I figured I'll just build it myself and save a shitload o' cash.
