If they're fungus gnats then putting sand over the soil should kill them.

If they're the Predatory Nematodes they would die from starvation having nothing to feed on.

If they're some other type of Nematode, or anything else, then the predatory nematodes should do the trick. They're really your safest bet.

Use Mosquito Dunks in your water and crnch some up on top of the soil, problem solved. For hydro use SM-90 in the reservoir.

As for home remedies I cant help you but I did recently have a problem with thrips. I used a dose of END ALL 2(chemical) changed my rezz now Ive been spraying with neem oil it worked for me. I also add 2cc of neem diluted in a bit of water to my 55 litter rez .
