White Widow - flowering w/ CFL's

Alright, back again with some white widow. This girl was veg'd for 31 days and has been flowering for 5 days. I shit you not, on day 31 I set the lights to 12/12 from 18/6 and the very next day I saw the first white hairs starting to emerge. Last grow it took about a week to show sex, so I was very suprised. I used miracle grow soil and nutes last year and had decent results. This year I decided to go with an organic mix so I got some "sweet earth" organic soil.

It contains the following:

-worm castings
-chicken manure
-aged bat guano
-alaskan fish bone meal
-seaweed extract
-kelp meal
-alfalfa meal
-colloidal softrock phosphate
-oyster shell

It also contains soil microbes plus mycorrhizae. The mycorrhizae has made a noticible difference in the root growth and nutrient uptake. All of the leaves are a nice deep green. For lights I have one 65watt (300watt equivalent) CFL positioned on it's side. On either side of the plant I have a socket hanging down with a y-adapter to light up the midsection. One side has 42watt & 15watt and the other side two 26watt CFL's for a total of 174 actual watts equivalent to 710 watts.

Below my flowering area I have a cloning system currently at work. There is a 24" floro tube mounted under the flower cabinet along with a hanging socket and y-adapter with two 26watt (6500k) CFL's. Hoping to see some roots soon. This clone will be my mother plant and then I would like to start taking 3 clones at a time and get some consistent bud production.

Temps in flower area: 76 degrees
humidity: 50%

Temps in clone chamber: 84
humidity: 85-90%

nice keep it up im subscribed check out my pics... i need two more nodes to start flowering at day 35 now...want to know how the yield will turn out im doing the same and can judge if the same...Grats!!!

Plant looks very healthy. I like your choice of organics this time around, the microbes in the soil along the with casting make such a big differents in the nute intake and in return bud production. If you could get the ligts on the side a little closer it would be more efficient. Also if you could get some lights under the plant for the lower branches that dont get enough intense light for proper bud production. Looks good cant wait to see the end results. By the way, what was your yield on the last grow?

Last years grow was my first indoor grow and was a great learning experience. I had two plants and each yielded about a half ounce. Not great, but the quality was excellent. I figured quality before quantity. last years plants were about 6 inches (and 6 nodes) when they started flowering and about 16 inches when I harvested. This year my plant is standing at 9 inches (and 10 nodes) and I'm hoping it will be around 24 inches by harvest time. Anyone know approximately how much bud can be expected from a 24inch tall plant when grown in optimal conditions?

Here are some pics of last years bud:

Looking good bro, I wanna do some White Widow myself at some point. Had it one time in MIA and all I can say is W-O-W. I can honestly say I've never been that high before, like ripped beyond recognition and I loved every minute of it. went to sleep woke up the next day to only still be high for another 4 hours. Im going towards the organics too, just got me some FF Big Bloom, it works pretty well. You got the picture, I like where this is going. Im dialed in and the buds from the last pic are mouth watering :weed:

Day 6 of flowering. Here's some pics of the mid section...Nice and bushy.

plant is looking real nice. the bud from the last harvest is great man. i might be able to help you a little. probably more in 2 weeks though. i flowered mine when she was 6in and 10 nodes. she is now 26in with a 10-12in cola and quite a few nice side buds. i'm hoping to pull an once from her. depends how much she plumps up. g/l and definately subscribed

Hey thanks everyone. Yeah, She was about 8 1/2 inches on monday and today she's at 11 inches. 2.5 inches in 5 days. I started LST a little bit on monday. I just tied down the mid section branches so the tops weren't being shaded by the big leaves anymore. Now that they're getting light, they're starting to taking off. My camera sucks ass so you can't see the white hairs coming in. I'm hoping to get at least an ounce off her.

So, the smoke that I've been getting for the last week has been stoney as hell...When I go to smoke a bowl I always break the bud up really fine hoping that I'll find a seed. Well this last batch had about 6 seeds in it, but, they were the smallest seeds I've ever seen. Usually the small seeds I find are white, these ones are solid black though. They're about 4 times smaller than the seeds I usually get. Has anyone else come across these dwarf seeds and had luck actuall getting them to sprout?

Anyway, Back to the grow

Here she is on day 11 of flowering:

so you know what the strain is i got a buddy who hooked it up with 20 diffrent sizes on friday and i though the same and have gotten 4 to sprout fo a test run the 4 small ones he gave me 2 had 1/8 inch tap roots and 2 had the black eyes and roottap with the shell split so just try them

good luck mother plant looks good

Right on man, I'm going to give them a try. I'm glad to hear that cuz I have 6 of the super dank seeds, and like 15 from some other pretty good stuff. I' know when you let a plant go a little bit longer in flowering than usual It knows it's about to die and grows a single seed (sometimes more) in a last effort to reproduce. My last grow was from two different buds, both were the only seed I found in each bag....both turned out to be female. On my current grow, I found the one seed, and it also turned out to be female. That's why I check all of my bud thoroughly cuz I know if I find just one seed, it's probably going to be a female.

Alright, I'm pretty stoked! I just went out to do my early afternoon check up and noticed that my clone finally sprouted a root! Very, very good news. I was set out to start a small scale perpetual grow, but when my first two clones didn't sprout roots I thought I was going to be down to just the one plant. The first two clones were dipped in B1 then in powder root tone and put in soil, but nothing came of it. As a last effort I took one last clone about 2 days into the flowering cycle. I started the clone in a hydro setup then a week later moved it into a 8 oz. cup full of PH'd water and left it in the corner of my grow room to see what happened. It's been about two weeks total and the first roots have appeared. I'm going to use this clone as my mother and get back on the road to my SOG.

Nobody seems to be interested in this thread, but here's some pics for my own amusement

The widow looks great, just keep the updates coming and people will catch on. The grow journal section is a great place to post as well.

Hey thanks for pointing that out. So here's a few pics from earlier today. This camera sucks so I can't get the detail I'm looking for, probably going to get one tomorrow. So, I decided to prune two of the upper fan leaves today. I wasn't planning one doing any trimming but the fan leaves are HUGE and are creating a lot of shadow on the mid section. The last pic is of my clone being dwarfed by the massive indica leaves. It's currently in the flowering chamber as you can see, but I want to move it into it's own veg chamber. I'm going out of town for 3 days and don't have time time fix the veg setup. Hopefully the inconsistency in lighting times won't mess with the growth too much.
