White Salty Substance on Leaves?

And no I haven't been getting "to attached" to my plants!!

I have what would appear to be a whitish salt looking substance on my leaves. Would appear to disappear when I spray water on them and then when the water drys out it will be in the same place. Any ideas what this might be? Thought it might be mould or spider mites but I've looked at pictures online and it's nothing like this. If you imagine leaving salt water in a pan and letting it dry. The rings that would be left after that are reminiscent of the marks on a couple of my plants.

water residue........as the polar one states. i only spray my plants when they are on fire...........long story

i've been getting this same thing recently.. mine is definitely not mold as my rh is like 16%, lol, but it's definitely a salty buildup and i don't spray my plants with anything either..
i was thinking maybe it's some splash up from when i water, but it doesn't seem to be bothering anything other then me..

Cheers all!

Yeah I've been spraying them with water because they did have a bit of a heat issue and then the humidity totally dropped the other night. Woke up to 18% humidity. Normally around 40% so like more than 50% drop. Don't know if it was especially cold or something. Getting a humidifier to help combat this. I know I need to get better control over my environment but I guess you don't know what's going to be an issue till you start.

So basically if I stop spraying them will this disappear? Is it a major problem?

If it's salts, it should disappear with a cessation of spraying. I grow in desert-equivalent humidity, and have had no problems with the plants disliking it. I see more problems from high humidity than low. <add> No, not a problem big enough to need action. cn
