which plants tend to give more yield??

Bushy ones or the ones that are taller?? IDK because my plants happen to be very bushy but not that tall, Also some are getting so bushy that the bottom leaves can't be getting enough light...Any advice?

I like to top mine to have 4 main branches. Then I prune those: take new, little branches, budsites, etc. (but not fan leaves) off of the lower half of each main stalk.

Personally, I've found yield to be pretty similar either way. But, with pruning, I get bigger tops and don't have a bunch of fluffy, small crap (from shaded, lower areas) to trim.

Ok, yield is a totally subjective thing, and it varies so much by strain that there aren't any hard and fast guidelines. General rule of thumb is that short and bushy=Indica/Indica dominant, which also usually means a smaller harvest per plant, but it also means that they flower faster and you get to harvest more often. Sativas (the tall ones) also tend to be harder to grow then Indicas, and take up more space.

As for the lower branches not getting light, it sort of depends. Light passes through the leaves in spectrums that we can't see, so you can't trust what your seeing yourself. Get a lumen meter and see if your getting 5K+ down towards the bottom of the plants-if not, you might want do do a little trimming, but don't go overboard or start taking entire branches.

HAHA, trim those babies, it also sounds like you got your hands full with some nice indica (short and bushy) I personally love indica. Also, like the guy above said, yield depends on strain, but this only counts if your experienced. Most first time or few after that are not at 100% when growing, so yield is much lower. Happy growin FAM....

Ok, yield is a totally subjective thing...
Not when you weigh it. You're pretty much removing all subjectivity there. Maybe you meant to use a different word?

Plants that stay bushy or crops with a similar canopy will yield better indoors. The trade off indoors for height is an under-develop lower portion of your plant. That's were training really comes in handy. Indoors under a 600hps, you really don't want anything over about 3 ft.

As already touched on, sativa and indica are the tall and busy versions, respectivly, of cannabis. Bushy indica is known for a stone and a tall sativa is known for the high. Connoisseurs tend to prefer the sativa high and cash croppers like the structure, yield, and turn around time of the indica. Sativas can yield huge but they can take 50% longer to finish. Indicas can yield well too but are a PITA to trim compared to sativas.

At the end of the day, it's all about satisfying YOUR goals.
